haydenc Posted April 14, 2016 Share #3 Â Posted April 14, 2016 It doesn't mention anything about fixing the view finder brightness which is my biggest complaint with the camera.

wlaidlaw Posted April 14, 2016 Share #5  Posted April 14, 2016 Hurrah - flash works properly at last. It seems to have done an FW update as well on the SF58. At the first switch on it did not work but the second time, it all worked and TTL-HSS is now switching on automatically, which it never did before. I can now use the SL for a family wedding along with my M240 on Saturday. I can return the Monochrome 2 to the very kind and trusting friend who lent it to me but I am going to ask if I can borrow his 75 Summicron until Monday, when my wife can return it. I am off down to France, first thing Monday morning.  Wilson

Dolphin Posted April 15, 2016 Share #7 Â Posted April 15, 2016 Advertisement (gone after registration) really surprising how such a small change can dramatically improve usability How can I allocate the rear wheel (only) for exposure compensation. I am using M lenses and was not successful ... The upper wheel works fine. Thank you for any advice in advance.
ramarren Posted April 15, 2016 Share #8  Posted April 15, 2016 How can I allocate the rear wheel (only) for exposure compensation. I am using M lenses and was not successful ... The upper wheel works fine. Thank you for any advice in advance.   See http://www.l-camera-forum.com/topic/259283-leica-sl-firmware-v20-answers-our-wishes/?p=3026729 for an explanation of how it works.  In short: you can't do this until Leica adds the ability to customize the dial control assignments for shutter and aperture. With adapted lenses, the upper/front wheel does direct ev compensation control in A mode, and the rear wheel can be used if you enable the function with the EV Compensation menu function for either A or M mode.

Yes, but only in combination with pushing the button on the top.

Sandokan Posted May 15, 2016 Share #11 Â Posted May 15, 2016 A person in Munich told me that firmware version 2.1 would soon be released. Does anyone know about it or any features?
wlaidlaw Posted May 15, 2016 Share #12  Posted May 15, 2016 A person in Munich told me that firmware version 2.1 would soon be released. Does anyone know about it or any features?  I would not be surprised if this made the touted new feature of locking the bottom end of the ISO range in AutoISO in Aperture Priority, actually work this time. I don't quite know how this one escaped seemingly untested. At least I hope that is it, because that will be a very useful feature for me, when it does work.  Wilson
Sandokan Posted May 15, 2016 Share #13  Posted May 15, 2016 Normally a short upgrade cycle is either due to bug fixes or to new features that were not fully tested out for the previous release. So hopefully it is the latter   Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
ramarren Posted May 15, 2016 Share #14  Posted May 15, 2016 Short cycles that I see are usually bug fixes. I'd love to see them fix the Auto ISO lower limit bug; I reported that early in the beta cycle for fw2.0.
wlaidlaw Posted May 15, 2016 Share #15  Posted May 15, 2016 I gave up being a beta tester of firmware and software as I found no attention was paid to any bugs reported. N.I.H. (Not Invented Here) rules. Apple is worse than Leica.

Wilson Hmm. Â I hadn't used this, but I just tried resetting my min ISO for Auto ISO to 200, and when it needed to increase ISO above that, it did not, remaining at 200 and the minimum shutter speed. I had not noticed that it acted as an upper cap as well, because when I found it did not work as a floor, I gave up using it and went back to my previous methodology of setting the shutter speed at 1/2F, where F is the focal length of the lens at the time. Someone else posted that it worked properly in shutter priority (T mode) but not in A, P or M but I have not tried this.  Wilson

And I would like to get finally tethering (from PC/Mac). Or do you think this is not related to firmware and will come in a different package ?  (But how ?)  Stephan
