Should I sell my X2 for the Q?

I am in the process of selling almost all my gear for the new Q.  (M8, 3 Canon lenses, keeping my 3 Leica M lenses, D-Lux 5), but I don't know if I should also sell my X2.  The X2 has become my go to camera for travel, nights out, etc.  I could use the cash for the Q, but I am mixed if I should keep it or not.

 Thanks for the advice.

Cheers

Do do you need the money from the X2 to buy the Q?

If yes sell it and buy the Q

If not keep it and buy the Q

Regardless .... buy the Q

I had an X1 ages ago, can't say I've really missed it, especially compared to a Q.  Once you've got a VF, far faster AF, faster lens etc, not much to miss, and you can crop the Q to a 15meg 35mm equiv. so really not missing much.

X2 is a bit more portable, but not like it fits into a pocket, and the Q carries pretty easily in a small bag

The X1(2) weights less than half as compared to the Q and fits easily into a jacket pocket or small belt pouch. So it`s way more portable if picture talking is not the main activity of the day.

mmmh, selling a fine Leica camera? I'll keep mine for  those cases where I only go out with a handbag. Since I always carry a camera the X1,X2 are still doing a great job.

Agree!  Don't sell it if you don't have to. The output from the X2 is still quite exceptional.

Depending on where you live/season, one might not have a jacket, and I can't really imagine wearing a small belt pouch to carry a camera around if photography is not the activity of the day.  To each his/her own, but I either find I want to have a camera with me ie; one that is a serious imaging tool, or I don't want to be burdened with having a camera, thus my iPhone.

If I still had my X1,  I'd either be annoyed feeling it in pocket and knowing I'm not using it because I must not of really needed a camera that badly, OR, if I did use it, I'd be annoyed it didn't have features like the EVF I love on my Q, not to mention feeling annoyed I spent over $4k on a Q and its sitting at home.

I kept my X1. It fits in a jacket pocket. The Q doesn't. So when I'm going somewhere where I'm not sure I'll be taking shots, I take the X1 just in case.

Same with me (x2). The x 113 went into the bay. I Never really fell in love with the latter.

I wouldn't, but that's just me. I prefer the 35+ mm field of view to 28mm. "They" say that it's just a matter of adapting to 28mm, but most of the Q images I've seen have the 28mm "look," and while it can be spectacular, It just isn't my preference. I'll take the X2.

Greetings.  Not to complicate matters, but what is next in reference to you M lenses?  Once you enjoy the bigger sensor, the M8 will unlikely continue to satisfy you.  As you may think of an M9 or an M240 (using the available funds) the current X2 may then be an excellent second support to your M and its lenses.  The Q is most capable, no question, but the X2 with an M system can serve very admirably too.   Enjoy in good health.
