gdheaton Posted January 15, 2016 Share #1 Posted January 15, 2016 Advertisement (gone after registration) I just received another beautiful leather case for the 240 from Paul Glendell of Classic Cases. The workmanship is excellent and he is worth checking out. Have a look at: http://www.classiccases.co.uk/
Advertisement Posted January 15, 2016 Posted January 15, 2016 Hi gdheaton, Take a look here Classic Cases. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
250swb Posted January 15, 2016 Share #2 Posted January 15, 2016 With just this one post on the forum am I being too cynical in thinking this is just a free advertising plug? I mean, if you have 'just received another' why didn't we hear about the first, how many Leica's do you have? Steve
MarkP Posted January 15, 2016 Share #3 Posted January 15, 2016 Maybe, but if you're wrong you have not been very pleasant to a potential new Forum member. GHeaton, welcome to the forum if this is not an advert. Otherwise I'm with Steve
pedaes Posted January 15, 2016 Share #4 Posted January 15, 2016 And just for completeness, if you want the absolute best in cases go Arte di Mano.
gdheaton Posted January 15, 2016 Author Share #5 Posted January 15, 2016 Steve, I am a new member, and this is not free adverting at all. I thought the point of the forum was to share 'finds' like this one as well as discussions. and I have 4 Leicas
MarkP Posted January 15, 2016 Share #6 Posted January 15, 2016 Then welcome to the forum and please keep posting. Please don't be discouraged by Steve - everyone has their shitty moments!
earleygallery Posted January 15, 2016 Share #7 Posted January 15, 2016 Advertisement (gone after registration) Well it's odd for a new member to make his first post about 'another' Leica case they've bought, and to post a link to a manufacturers website to show it - most people post a photo of their own new camera, case or whatever. Also new members are encouraged to introduce themselves first here - http://www.l-camera-forum.com/forum/139-new-to-leica-and-leica-forum/ So promoting someones product and website on your first post is bad form, but if you are a genuine newcomer welcome. gdheaton Posted January 15, 2016 Author Share #8 Posted January 15, 2016 I am beginning to wonder about the value of this forum if this is the sort of response to a quite frankly innocent post.
EdwardM Posted January 16, 2016 Share #9 Posted January 16, 2016 Welcome! but looks like pure advertisement. Say hello to the people before any advertisement. Advice. Free of charge. Period.
Luke_Miller Posted January 16, 2016 Share #10 Posted January 16, 2016 I am beginning to wonder about the value of this forum if this is the sort of response to a quite frankly innocent post. Pay no mind. It is the new member initiation.
adespen Posted January 18, 2016 Share #11 Posted January 18, 2016 Have you any other cases? What made you chose this one? Greetings from Melbourne.
gdheaton Posted January 18, 2016 Author Share #12 Posted January 18, 2016 Hi from Sydney. I wanted a leather case and heard about the Italian makers and then the Brutish guy in the Leica magazine, I chose him as I am a Brit/ Aussie. I have only bought from him, one each for an M9, Monochrom. and now a 240. It would be interesting to know if someone else has a comparisson i guess; i like what i bought
pgk Posted January 19, 2016 Share #13 Posted January 19, 2016 I'm pretty sure that these cases have been discussed before on the forum, though finding the relevant post using the search function might take some doing, as cases and bags of one sort or another are an often discussed topic. If you like what you bought that's really what matters. I use an old CCS padded case which looks awful but stuffs into a rucksack well - no longer available unfortunately. 4 Leicas sounds like an enthusiast so you should get on well here once you've got over a few grumpy posts (like I'd never post ). gdheaton Posted January 19, 2016 Author Share #14 Posted January 19, 2016 4 Leicas is compulsive, obsessive on my part! I just found a CCS case on Google, it looks great and well padded, just right for the task given how delicate electronics and cameras can be these days.
