An admittedly, poorly composed photo of some Leitz hoods with boxes.  I wanted to show some red boxes, and I also added a few hoods without boxes.  You may need to zoom-in to see the details.

In the foreground, are the hoods for the 28 Hektor, black Wetzlar, black New York, and chrome New York.  I also could not resist the top middle hood, an OLLUX, which is recently become quite collectible.

I did not open the boxes with the folding hoods.  All my folding hood boxes are for the Summitar, I do not have a box for the Xenon or Summicron.

I can ask a couple of questions about Leitz hoods:

1) what are the smallest and the largest removable hoods ever supplied by leitz for camera lenses?  My best guess is the 105 Elmar for the smallest and the 400 Telyt early lens for the largest. Maybe the 800 Telyt had a large hood, but I think this section may have had an optical element.

2) why are some Leitz lens hoods unengraved or unmarked?  The 73 Hektor, 90 Thambar, 105 Elmar and early FISON come to mind. Leitz was usually quite intent on marking their products.

Any responses, as always appreciated

Because of Dott. Braconi's first picture, I realized that I had overlooked the telescoping length of my FIKUS shade.  I overlooked the second thumbscrew somehow, even when using it on my Elmar 90mm screw mount a few weekends ago.  Thank you all.  :D   It goes to show that I can learn something new every day.
