Yes stunning pictures by Tina Manley. But imagine we would have to work so hard for a living and getting presumably very bad payed.
i think we would not look very happy too...
I thank my parents that i was born in western europe and had a chance to get free education and apprenticeship.

I think your Bangladesh pics are stunning Tina, in every way, but man the subjects look sooooooo sad, are they like this?

Gary

I think most of them look very happy!  They are very friendly and happy people but they do have a hard life.  I think the one that really looks sad is the grandmother chewing betel leaves.  I showed her the photo on the back of my camera and she laughed and laughed, spraying betel juice everywhere!  I would have posted that photo but I was laughing too hard and the photo was out of focus.  The only other sad one was the boatman from the islands.  His land has been flooded several times recently and every time he loses more land.  He and his family are pretty desperate but know that there is no easy solution.  I'm hoping my photos will help bring publicity to the problem.  The people of Bangladesh are the friendliest and most welcoming I have ever met.

Ah, I see, and in no way was it a criticism, more an innocent observation/feeling I had from the boatman and the betel chewer.

As I said, wonderful images, very striking.

That's one of the classic Routemasters that run between Tower Hill and Trafalgar. Ride it while you can, I understand the service is being cut back drastically next month.

I used to take the No 15 bus home, from Oxford St to Nottinghill.  Fond memories.

Polarizers really don't work that well with this lens, especially at the lower mm range.  If you notice you have nice darkening and definition in the center, but on the left side the polarizing effect drops off.  I learned this lesson the hard way, wondering why my images of sky were not uniform.  Those adjustments can be made in LR.

You are right, i do have noticed it too- but in global it did not bother me in this pic.
(BTW- this polarizer effect made me send the lens to Leica as even in LR i could not correct it as i wanted..., and yes it is NOT the cheapest polarizer)
