Fair question, Graham.  I sold my CL for another TL2, but I think your question is more directed to why I used the SL with fewer megapixels.  

First, I much prefer the EVF on the SL and the ability to use the toggle switch to obtain focus.  Secondly, and I'm not sure that I'm correct about this, but I think the SL produces less noise in low light, even with the apsc lenses . (This observation may be correct, but I'm not sure).
