Nice shot!

I see the light was really in your favour.

Kind to share the settings you have selected?

Was it AFC/Dynamic Tracking you’ve used?

ISO?

Shutter speed (I see some movement blur on bird’s wing tips, was it 1/1600?)

Exposure Mode?

Drive continuous medium? ( SL has short buffer )

Handheld?

It was handheld.  I was using Face Recognition focusing.  Here is the EXIF:

Date/Time 03-Feb-2018 10:30:42 Make Leica Model LEICA SL (Typ 601) Flash Used No Focal Length 280 mm Exposure Time 1/345 sec Aperture f/4 ISO Equivalent 50 Exposure Bias -1/2

All photos at 2.0

The SL75 Cron is a gem to use.

Reasonable fast AF (for me) and sharp on focus with pleasant bokeh (to my taste).

Lightweight in the SL lens arsenal (should not compare to M lens)

I came from Canon system so I use that as my basis.

Please pardon this novice, still learning the ropes to better composition and the finer points of Leica photography.

Benedict

It's fascinating to see how the wingtip feathers work.  Did you get a shot with his (or her) wings on the downstroke?

I used the 50 Summilux-SL today and came across a protest against gender discrimination.

Less compressed JPEGs here: https://www.smugmug.com/gallery/n-qSnzdV/i-SGMmL3W

No racism, no sexism

Tina- Was that using the on-board HDR function for jpegs, or something in post production?

I process most of the HDRs in Lightroom.  I use the in-camera jpeg to see if they need any ghosting removal.  If so, I process them in PS with the Pro HDR; otherwise, I use the HDR available in LR.  It almost always does a better job than the jpeg and I'd rather end up with a tiff to work with than a jpeg.

I'm really enjoying the Summilux-SL 50. The new firmware has made it even more enjoyable to shoot. It's so good that I have not shot my Summilux-M 50 ASPH in a month or two.

Summilux-SL 50 at f/1.4
