This is pretty astonishing. Not just down to the performance of the lens, but the fact that you have managed to penetrate the atmosphere which is normally a bigger impediment to this sort of shot.

The city light pollution does affect the image - even after the rain has 'washed' the atmosphere. Using AWB the resultant colour looked very odd and trying to correct it was difficult - thus converted to B&W. I have some ideas for obtaining better colour and also want to try some stitched panoramas to show more of the City of London high rise tower blocks, as a group, and with compressed perspective foreground. Being six miles distant no vertical corrections are necessary so likely possible to take a series of vertical format images with good DOF (to obtain more pronounced compressed perspective) which should stitch together nicely. But I live approx 70 miles from Alexandra Palace so have to take pot luck with the atmospheric conditions.

White flowers on green - SL and Canon 70/200 IS 2,8 II plus 2ply Canon extender adapted with Novoflex

adapter. In this configuration AF sometimes works, sometimes does not - so it is sometimes necessary to

use manuel focus. In this case it is sufficient to change it on the lens - change on the camera is not necessary.

Mark, I was hesitant to post this following your majestic image, but unfortunately we have no mountains in Florida.   :)

I just got back from a trip to China, Mongolia, and Russia.  I used the M240, MM, and SL.  I continue to be impressed by the high ISO look of the SL.  This one is 6400.  I haven't finished editing the 6000 photos I took, but some of them are here:  http://www.pbase.com/tinamanley/peso_2017&page=all
