I was fooling around with the 2x Extender-R yesterday morning before my walk and fitted the Elmar-R 180mm f/4 to it... At just that moment, I saw this hawk alight on the telephone pole out my window and across the parking lot across the street ...

So I took it out on my Saturday morning walk in the park... along with a tripod.

M mode coupled with AutoISO worked very well! But anything beyond 180 to 200 mm is pretty hopeless for me to hand-hold and get consistent results ... at least without image stabilization.

enjoy!

Totally off-topic, but nevertheless...

Interesting name of a bird belonging to the thrush family (Turdus migratorius)! Did the early Europeans miss the European robin (Erithacus rubecula) so much - beautifully captured by member thingslapper - that the reddish thrush became a robin?

From a novice in snow-land.
