Just a heads up that I was notified by my local dealer that a Leica Q is available for sale, in case there's interest. This is as of July 27 at 12:30 pm PST,

Please contact Mark Vercammen at Glazers Camera (in Seattle, WA) at 206-624-1100 if you have interest.

I have no financial benefit from this information, but I know Mark and Glazers well and am alwyays happy to help them out if needed.

Just happened to check this thread to day.  Glad I did!  Thanks for the heads up!  Gave them a call and snagged this up!

I ordered mine 10 days ago and the Leica store today said it should be available in two days... I hope it's true ;)

P.S. Italy

You lucky man :). I ordered my already one month ago and it looks it will be a long waiting. I am from Italy as well, but ordered in Austria.

you did crazy to order in Austria :-) i passed a couple of weeks ago in Leica store in Milan when i visited expo and they had avalaible 4-5 pcs and they told that new pcs were arriving each week

it was much better call in italy and get in few days the Q

now maybe is really short since we are under holiday (and also in Wetzlar factory workers are sure in holiday...)

I was told by the local boutique (Taiwan) the demand for the Q in North Asia is very high (China, Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan). Supply is only trickling in and they have not had any delivery in the past 3 weeks. Preordered mine in early June, and still waiting. In the mean time, its T time. :)

It is interesting to note that a Hong Kong seller had 11 cameras for sale for $4999 and had sold one.  Suddenly he disappeared from eBay.  Two Amazon sellers each have one camera for sale.  One for about $7,500 and the other one for about $6999.  I'm sure they are hoping for a desparate buyer.

If it means anything at all... my order was from early June and they told me October as well.   It is entirely possible they don't really know. :-)

Online chat with B&H this morning, they said the estimate available date is Oct 7!!! My order is on July 23 :(

Unfortunately, this is the date that Leica officially gave to B&H , sorry.

I am guessing but I think I can guess what is going on.

It is my understanding that many European companies take August as a holiday month.  I remember last August we were on holiday in Paris and many family owned businesses/restaurants were closed.  If that is true in Germany (and I have no reason to believe it is not)  then with production diminished in August - a company may not want to ramp up production in the end of July and leave many products in a partial completed state .... That would explain the October delivery dates.... 4 weeks in September to get the production up and ship by 1st week in October.

I cannot believe in this day and age that any company would want to let customers (with cash in hand wanting a product)  leave without a chance to purchase --allowing the customer to go elsewhere with their money--- just saying..

Hope you are right, or if June orders also need to wait until Oct, that would be a really long waiting list...

Sounds like some more arrived in the US today.  I got my name on a list at a camera shop about 2 weeks ago and was told it arrived today.  The shop only received 1.  I got really lucky.  Apparently, the USA Q's have been arriving in quantities as small as 20.

Can't wait!

Tmfs: did you say that you placed an order with B&H for the Q on June 11 and they sent you a shipment notification for Q?

I put in an order to B&H early June myself - maybe I will hear soon too! Is the order they send them out exactly the same as the queue of the orders?
