+1 on, at first, thinking this was a V-Lux. However, if we take a closer look at the text on the two lenses: on the V-Lux there is Leica written at the top, and then the technical stuff at the bottom. On the blurry photo, it  doesn't look like the lens have this text setup. Looks more like a e.g. Summarit-S

This is actually the new revolutionary V-lux that will be announced on October 20. The major change is moving the red dot to the other side of the lens, but there are a few cosmetic changes, like making the lens removable, the sensor a bit larger (24x36) etc.

Thanks for sharing. Curious that lavidaleica chooses the X2 to illustrate the "SL".

The shields protecting Wetzlar hold up remarkably well; there have been no real leaks so far. The only substantial pieces of information are those provided by Leica: that an ‘SL (Typ 601)’ and an ‘X-U (Typ 113)’ are imminent and that there will be a major announcement on 20 October. As to the rumours the rate of fact to bs is not significantly higher than what educated guesses could achieve.

Yes, this is what I read :

Leica   Vario-Elmarit-R 28-90 mm. F/2.8-4.5 ASPH. E67 [...]

Did you read "mm" really? And are you sure focal lengths are engraved before apertures?

I would have expected Vario-Elmarit-R 1:2.8-4.5 / 28-90 ASPH instead.

Or it is another lens.

Hi, if you check image and compare engravings it is quite possibly it is the Elmarit Vario, see my previous post.

I initially read 24-90, but checking the second image I started to think it could be an old film R and a legacy lens/

The engravings spacing and positions also match.

sorry to have ruined the party :-(

You are correct, my fault.

I deciphered the information on the picture, checked the lens in Wiki. Put it in the wrong order.

Still think it is the lens though!

Could just be an R3 with that lens on it.

That camera very much resembles it.

Not really

The three lenses to be announced together with Leica SL:

- Leica Vario-Elmarit-SL 1:2.8-4 / 24-90mm ASPH.

- Leica Apo-Vario-Elmarit-SL 1 2.8-4 / 90-280mm

- Leica Summilux-SL 1:1.4 / 50mm ASPH.

Conflicting information from the other post said it would launch with a 50/2 cron.
