johnbuckley Posted August 28, 2015 Share #584 Posted August 28, 2015 Ten days ago I was taking pictures on a dirt road outside of Grand Teton National Park. A car drove by slowly, stopped, back up. To my delight, the fellow in the car had seen me shooting with my Monochrom, and leaned out the window to show me his... M240! A first.

Loren Posted August 30, 2015 Share #586 Posted August 30, 2015 This thread died fast. Yes, but the death knell for the M just keeps tolling.

Jeff S Posted August 30, 2015 Share #589 Posted August 30, 2015 This thread will remain relevant every single year, around fall. Obviously. Every 3 years for the M. And predictable, mostly cosmetic, updates between. Jeff
Alan Aurmont Posted August 30, 2015 Share #590 Posted August 30, 2015 Every 3 years for the M. Jeff Apparently not. There is purportedly no new M this year, which breaks the usual 3-year cycle.
Jeff S Posted August 30, 2015 Share #591 Posted August 30, 2015 Apparently not. There is purportedly no new M this year, which breaks the usual 3-year cycle. Maybe yes, maybe no, but how does that make this thread relevant annually....and obviously? Jeff

Alan Aurmont Posted August 30, 2015 Share #593 Posted August 30, 2015 Maybe yes, maybe no, but how does that make this thread relevant annually....and obviously? Jeff By breaking the usual cycle, Leica could possibly entertain the idea of getting into a yearly cycle or even a random unpredictable one, which could result in guessing, predicting the next release, hence the annual relevance. Hey You Posted August 30, 2015 Share #598 Posted August 30, 2015 At some point virtually every thread goes off the rails, and rarely gets back on topic. But I continue to read nonetheless, in faint hope of an exception. It was a good thread at the outset . . . .
mjh Posted August 30, 2015 Share #599 Posted August 30, 2015 There is purportedly no new M this year, which breaks the usual 3-year cycle. The M (Typ 240) started shipping in 2013 so if Leica sticks to a 3 year product cycle its successor should ship in 2016. And who says it won’t?
