Flare again!!! damn the filters! What did you use???? you should just use a circular filter!

It is a 10-stop Firecrest filter.

Flare is not always bad. Many years ago, when shooting film, people liked the affect of the lens diaphragm being visible.

If I want to capture an image in this lighting, I have to accept that flair is a byproduct. Unless there is a filter manufacturer that has coatings, which eliminate it.

The flare in the last photograph can be cloned out in pp; other types of flare are much harder to get rid of.

Which shutter speed did you use in the last one? People are mostly washed out, so perhaps 30 sec?

Yes, the diaphragm shape can be removed, but is its presence objectionable? I tend not to change such things because it is part of the image and part of photogrphy. The exposure was 16 seconds.

Below is the image without the diaphragm. It does not change anything for me, what about you?

Thanks. I this case, I would remove the reflection. In case the reflection either interferes with a major subject, or if it adds to the photo (as you stated in an earlier reply), I would keep it in.
