Advertisement Posted January 4, 2016 Posted January 4, 2016 Hi Peter Kilmister, Take a look here Which M lenses do you want to own??. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
asiafish Posted January 4, 2016 Share #202  Posted January 4, 2016 You haven't met my mother-in-law. She's convinced pyramids were built with the stones being teleported to the top. I need a lot of booze to get me through the holidays.  Ask Ben Carson, perhaps it was Joseph who teleported the stones.
BBHewee Posted January 4, 2016 Share #203  Posted January 4, 2016 Ask Ben Carson, perhaps it was Joseph who teleported the stones.  I never put two and two together. It all makes sense now.
Hayek Posted January 5, 2016 Share #204 Â Posted January 5, 2016 Ask Ben Carson, perhaps it was Joseph who teleported the stones. Better yet, ask B Hussein Obama who decided that "the rise of the oceans would begin to slow". Because he said so. Maybe he could decree her banished. He likes doing decrees. sblutter Posted January 11, 2016 Share #206  Posted January 11, 2016 After years of M shooting I've ended up with every length from 21 to 135 + a Viso III setup. All are Leitz except Zeiss (21) and Voightlander (75) - which are perfectly fine for what they do.  M3 habits apparently never die, 90% of the time I shoot with Summi 50 Ver IV.  This year I've promised myself to sell off a bunch of old stuff I never use - set them free! (A bursting bin of stuff...) Joshua Lowe Posted January 14, 2016 Share #207 Â Posted January 14, 2016 Advertisement (gone after registration) I'd like a WATE and an APO-Cron 90. Â I think that would round out the M glass for me.
duckrider Posted January 14, 2016 Share #208 Â Posted January 14, 2016 For reason of curiosity I'd wish to have a 90mm Noctilux, even if it won't make any sense to use it: http://translate.google.com/translate?sl=it&tl=en&js=n&prev=_t&hl=en&ie=UTF-8&layout=2&eotf=1&u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.marcocavina.com%2Farticoli_fotografici%2Fleitz_elcan_90%2F00_pag.htm Peerhaps on a modern EVIL camera it would work.... Â For reason of compactness I'd like to have a 2,8/40 Elmarit M: http://leicaphilia.com/the-leitz-elmar-c-40mm-2-8-a-leica-lens-not-good-enough-for-minolta/ Â Thomas
Martin B Posted January 17, 2016 Share #209 Â Posted January 17, 2016 (edited) I would love to have a small "reasonably" priced and optically good performing Leica 35/2 lens. But there is a challenge - it also needs to work on my digital Sony A7R camera. I looked deeply into available 35/2 lens options out there and so far I had to compromise somewhere. The 35/2 ASPH version 5 works well on Leica M series cameras but not at all on my A7R. The version 4 (non ASPH) would be nearly perfect for my preferences, but I find its price still much to steep. Older Leica lens versions are better in price but then come with optical drawbacks compared to newer versions. In the end I compromised in the lens size and went with the Voigtlander 35/1.2 II M lens which works great for me so far both on my A7R and on my M6 cameras. Still I am lurking for a smaller sized and a bit slower (f/2 is sufficient) 35 mm M lens......I am all ear if somebody has another idea which I might have overlooked! gpwhite Posted January 30, 2016 Share #211  Posted January 30, 2016 I have 2 lenses left to get the 50mm noctilux and the 28mm summicron asph  Very nice bookends indeed, in terms of rendering and treatment of colors.
gpwhite Posted January 30, 2016 Share #212  Posted January 30, 2016 I am currently pining after the Thambar.  Imagine you have read this by the Maestro of Noctilux himself...  http://overgaard.dk/leica-leitz-90mm-Thambar-f-22.html
Mark Pope Posted January 30, 2016 Share #213 Â Posted January 30, 2016 I had a hankering for a slightly longer reach on my new M (240) which has transmogrified itself into a 135mm Tele-Elmar. Â I keep telling myself that's it on the lens front!
otho Posted January 30, 2016 Share #214 Â Posted January 30, 2016 (edited) I'm dreaming of a famous Nocti f/1.2... Exceptional & unique character. Thambar is more real item. Edited January 30, 2016 by otho
DezFoto Posted January 30, 2016 Share #215  Posted January 30, 2016 Hmm, probably the 24mm Summilux-M ASPH or the Vario-Elamarit-R 28-90 ASPH. I'll keep it in the realm of reality and pretend I don't want the entire S lineup...
Steve Ricoh Posted January 31, 2016 Share #216  Posted January 31, 2016 As my second lens purchase I'm after a 50/f1.4 ASPH. A forum member pointed out a good deal on a brand new silver copy of the lens, however I'm 'humming and harring', not sure a silver lens will look that good on a black paint M240! Berlinman Posted January 31, 2016 Share #217 Â Posted January 31, 2016 I had a silver 50lux on my black M240. Just wonderfull! I traded it for a 50Apo...
TRIago Posted January 31, 2016 Share #218 Â Posted January 31, 2016 I love the look of black body and silver lens. My M9 is black and the 35 cron asph in silver looks perfect on it. Not a big fan of silver body w/ black lenses, tho.
Steve Ricoh Posted January 31, 2016 Share #219 Â Posted January 31, 2016 Silver lenses focus better too, don't they !!

Tested it instantly on my Sony A7R with excellent results, very good center sharpness even at f/2. Next I will use it on my Leica M6. I will keep my CV 35/1.2 II for low light and portrait purposes, but the Leica 35/2 will be my walk-around and travel lens for sure.
