lct Posted July 9, 2015 Share #201 Posted July 9, 2015 Advertisement (gone after registration) I have the profiles on the same card as the update. No problem. Because you did not format your card or you saved your profile on it after formatting and before updating i guess.
Advertisement Posted July 9, 2015 Posted July 9, 2015 Hi lct, Take a look here M240 FW. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
bab Posted July 9, 2015 Share #202 Posted July 9, 2015 Best FW update yet adds a enormous amount of after market value to the M240, it should bring an overwhelming amount of residual business to Leica. My only regret is I might not be alive by the time they release the next big one my doctor says I only have 35 years left! Seriously speaking I glad they fixed some bugs my M240 was itching bad it started to get RED dots!

Mornnb Posted July 9, 2015 Share #204 Posted July 9, 2015 I have Lexar Pro 16 GB, and the camera starts up fast, under 1.5 sec. The 1000X ones are very quick. I do use SD Formatter as well. There's ways to work around this, keep the camera on when you may need it suddenly. Set the auto power off to 10 minutes.
piblondin Posted July 9, 2015 Share #205 Posted July 9, 2015 Finally 2.0.2.5 is there Improvements: New Menu item “Flash exposure compensation” to adjust flash exposure with the Leica SF 26 flash unit (only active when SF 26 is attached). This new function requires Firmware 1.1 on the SF 26 Flash. Several firmware bugs that caused occasional camera hang up when using Live View or Video function have been fixed. Interestingly I never had hang ups while using live view, only when using high isos... No compelling reasons for me to update.

esophoria Posted July 9, 2015 Share #209 Posted July 9, 2015 Where do I find the updated firmware for the SF26 flash? I have version 1 but can't find v 1.1 on the Leica site You'll need to send in the SF 26 to Leica to get the 1.1 update

CheshireCat Posted July 9, 2015 Share #211 Posted July 9, 2015 You'll need to send in the SF 26 to Leica to get the 1.1 update In 2015, this is preposterous.
jaapv Posted July 9, 2015 Share #212 Posted July 9, 2015 Because you did not format your card or you saved your profile on it after formatting and before updating i guess. Correct, first save, then update.
jto555 Posted July 9, 2015 Share #213 Posted July 9, 2015 Great to see the updated firmware. My only disapointment with it is that as a SF58 user the flash exposure compensation does not work. It would be great to use it when the flash is off the camera (and attached via a cable). I still have to take a test shot, run around to the flash and change its power, take another shot, run around to the flash and change its power, then take the photographs. indergaard Posted July 9, 2015 Share #214 Posted July 9, 2015 You'll need to send in the SF 26 to Leica to get the 1.1 update This HAS to be a joke, right?
Mornnb Posted July 9, 2015 Share #215 Posted July 9, 2015 Appears not to be.... Leica says please contact Leica to arrange a firmware update, here: http://en.leica-camera.com/content/download/124576/1372613/version/1/file/Firmwareupdate+1_EN_final.pdf
algrove Posted July 9, 2015 Share #216 Posted July 9, 2015 Well, I hope you're wrong - I have been told by a senior person at Wetzlar that they are working on the lock-up issue. Whether or not they take the opportunity for upgrades (improved start up time), I really don't know. This has been going on for years and with no positive results other than offering 2GB buffers for a lot more money. As MANY have offered here, the best approach for limiting lockups is to use SD Formatter.
lct Posted July 9, 2015 Share #217 Posted July 9, 2015 Not an excuse but the startup time of the Sony A7 II is even worse apparently. http://img1.lesnumeriques.com/test/96/9637/sony-a7m2-chronos.jpg
jsjxyz Posted July 9, 2015 Share #218 Posted July 9, 2015 Leica Q has the best startup
Mornnb Posted July 9, 2015 Share #219 Posted July 9, 2015 Canon 5D Mark III, 0.5 seconds. Canon 5D Mark II, 0.1 seconds. Nikon D800, 0.3 seconds. I expect no less for the Leica M, given it's supposed to be a high end full frame professional system. Granted the Sony A7 is similarly slow, but I expect a camera of this grade and price to stand up to the highest standards in the industry.
jdlaing Posted July 9, 2015 Share #220 Posted July 9, 2015 We don't need startup time that fast. It's not the rangefinder style of use. If you need speed other cameras will suit you better for machine gun style.
