Advertisement Posted June 21, 2023 Posted June 21, 2023 Hi rsh, Take a look here Hood fitting problem with 50mm SX black chrome (11688). I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
nvp Posted October 25 Share #422 Posted October 25 (edited) Hi Leica Forum members I just recently acquired this Lens It is a beauty except for the lens hood /- filter issue ! I find that Leica needs to design lenses and hoods more consciously The 11688 lens hood is a silly design. Not being able to use a filter with it in place is pathetic Remember Leica does charge a premium price $$$ for their cameras /- lenses. The photographers should not be looking for solutions I think hoods are necessary to get the most from the optics but when they conflict with the filters, Then there is a problem I am still looking for a solution and have asked Leica also about this issue. Thanks nvp Edited October 25 by nvp
graphlex Posted October 25 Share #423 Posted October 25 Leica redesigned the hood to fix the issue. For a while, they replaced the problematic hood with the new one at no charge.

graphlex Posted October 25 Share #425 Posted October 25 Sorry, I don’t. But presumably the updated ones are the only ones Leica is selling now.
rsh Posted October 29 Share #426 Posted October 29 (edited) Leica fixed the issue by changing the existing hood from a clip on hood to a screw in hood. I sent my hood for the service at no charge a few years ago. Not certain they still do this. You can see the result in posts on the previous page - 21. Good luck.
