MarkP Posted April 23, 2015 Share #21 Posted April 23, 2015 Advertisement (gone after registration) The only downside is that at 24mp in mono, it is going to very handily show up the flaws of every lens you mount to it. Or makes them shine even more than on the current Monochrom. I can't think of a lens that doesn't in it's own way give fantastic results on this camera. Advertisement Posted April 23, 2015 Posted April 23, 2015 Hi MarkP, Take a look here Leica M246 Monochrom registered in Korea.. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
jaapv Posted April 23, 2015 Share #22 Posted April 23, 2015 In my experience a high pixel count does not show up flaws, but enhances strengths.
colonel Posted April 23, 2015 Share #23 Posted April 23, 2015 Also, I really want to get everything down to two types of Li-Ion batteries - the ones that go in the M240/M246 and the ones that go in the X100/X100T. Shallow? Yes. But frankly, there is a stress level that goes with charger clutter (and never having the right batteries Dante That reminds me, I would love USB charging for future M models. It's just so d@mn convenient - e.g. I can charge at my desk at work for my lunch break walks ... And if all my stuff had this I would only need one charger with a USB and apple cable
indergaard Posted April 23, 2015 Share #24 Posted April 23, 2015 Hoping for 25600/51200 ISO capabilities with the same performance as the current Monochrom at ISO 10000.

Jeff S Posted April 23, 2015 Share #27 Posted April 23, 2015 Advertisement (gone after registration) Zero surprise. Stefan Daniel said in an interview at Photokina 2012 that we might expect an MM based on the the new M platform. More choices, more sales….good for Leica….ultimately good for us. The demise of the company would be sad. Jeff Here...http://www.l-camera-forum.com/leica-news/2012/10/leica-photokina-qa-session-schopf-daniel/ Question: Will the M-Monochrom remain part of the M-System for the foreseeable future? Stefan Daniel: We want to keep the series of that type. The Monochrom is very successful and we can imagine that there might be a Monochrom variant of the new model. The camera is addictive. A Almulla Posted April 23, 2015 Share #29 Posted April 23, 2015 Check your stoves .... I smell G.A.S. Between wanting to stick to my M240 and B?W conversion, M6 with B/W film or maybe save for the, can't say unexpected, upcoming Mono.
Guest NEIL-D-WILLIAMS Posted April 23, 2015 Share #30 Posted April 23, 2015 If billy is correct and a newer version of the current MM comes out (current one is fantastic by the way.........just love it) I will like many others buy the newer model as we do and sell on the older one to someone else and let them have as much fun with it as I have. And if Billy has got it all wrong then I will keep it and never look back.
BerndReini Posted April 23, 2015 Share #31 Posted April 23, 2015 I really wonder where used prices for the old one will settle. The deals are pretty good for new ones right now and the demand for the new model will mostly be driven by upgrades.

Ok, Neil, this is exactly what I mean by being provocative…and amusing. In your own recent thread, you simultaneously comment "I have no plans on selling it" as well as "I can take it or leave it", "I won't travel with it" and "I prefer using the M240 and converting for b/w". Without skipping a beat, you plan to buy the new one. And that's just after you've barely discovered the basic world of filters. Really, this place is better than TV. Can't make stuff up any better. Herr Barnack Posted April 24, 2015 Share #33 Posted April 24, 2015 I love B&W but will have to stick with my M4-P and Tri-X. Not to complain, though - my lack of camera mad money is the result of my recent acquisition of a Safari set.

Make me an offer for mine........I can have it hand delivered to where ever New York City is ( I guess thats in the US somewhere) as we have a bunch of Americans fly back to the US from here in Nigeria every week. W4Leica Posted April 25, 2015 Share #37 Posted April 25, 2015 My wife dropped my M9 to the concrete ground a couple weeks ago. That gives me an excuse. Review of MM by others did not convince me. If M246 with pictures and reviews meet my expectations, I will pull the trigger.
