Advertisement Posted April 11, 2015 Posted April 11, 2015 Hi jaapv, Take a look here Leica Forum Move on Friday / Saturday. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
jaapv Posted April 12, 2015 Share #62 Posted April 12, 2015 In Safari, the forum loses the sign-in all the time and it gives weird error messages when signing in (sorry you don’t have permission, despite logging in successfully) In Firefox it is beter, but still a bit buggy. MarkP Posted April 12, 2015 Share #63 Posted April 12, 2015 When I select "new content", I see an list of options on the left hand side of the screen where I select "content I have not read". Does this not do what you are asking for? However, the new forum does not remember which posts in the old forum I have seen. It does, therefore, show the beginning of a thread which has new content and does not position the text at the first unread entry. It seems to do that for each thread exactly once. Once it has stored which posts I have seen, it will position the new content correctly, I believe. But it doesn't quite do the same thing, there is some overlap, and isn't as streamlined and user-friendly as the previous two-in-one system. That the new system doesn't recall unread posts from the previous one is not relevant to this issue. Regards, Mark

I'm having no such problems in Safari but I'm still in the pre-Yosemite era.
DigitalHeMan Posted April 12, 2015 Share #65 Posted April 12, 2015 It seems we have lost the user CP, and I cannot send private messages, the software thinks I am over the limit. (which not) This is possibly due to the fact than sponsor benefits have not been transferred over yet so you are restricted to the lower sending limits. DigitalHeMan Posted April 12, 2015 Share #66 Posted April 12, 2015 I'm having no such problems in Safari but I'm still in the pre-Yosemite era.+1 I'm running Yosemite and not having problems with Safari. Jaap did you try restarting the browser, that fixes similar problems with other sites. Edit: Andreas just posted the following in another thread: "There are some issues regarding login and cookies because the domain change isn't registered everywhere (here to)." DigitalHeMan Posted April 12, 2015 Share #67 Posted April 12, 2015 Advertisement (gone after registration) Yes, I saw that, but it won't let me select the International Forum as a whole ... True but it's a bit more flexible so you can choose to ignore some of the English sub forums that don't interest you.
DigitalHeMan Posted April 12, 2015 Share #68 Posted April 12, 2015 Yes, overall I like it! Well done Andreas. However, I do miss the full list of 'likes' at the bottom of each post rather than having to click and open up another window. Was there a reason for this as I really preferred the old format? . Also it doesn't seem possible to see or give likes at all in the rather basic iPhone skin. I'm hoping Tapatalk integration won't take too long to reappear
pop Posted April 12, 2015 Share #69 Posted April 12, 2015 It seems we have lost the user CP, and I cannot send private messages, the software thinks I am over the limit. (which not) The user CP now is called something else. You find a close resemblance of it by clicking on the down arrow besides your user name on the top righ hand side of the page. Welcome, dear visitor! As registered member you'd see an image here… Simply register for free here – We are always happy to welcome new members! The migration has restored a large number of PMs I had deleted before. Andreas says it's because other recipients had not deleted those PMs and the migration could not hide them from the members who had deleted them. Open the "Personal Messenger" either by selecting that from the list that appears when clicking on the down arrow mentioned above or by clicking on the envelope icon one inch to the left of that. pop Posted April 12, 2015 Share #70 Posted April 12, 2015 In Safari, the forum loses the sign-in all the time and it gives weird error messages when signing in (sorry you don’t have permission, despite logging in successfully) In Firefox it is beter, but still a bit buggy. The page does not properly show it, but you're still signed in. Open another page (e.g. the "Show New Contents") and your status shows again. I observe that in a number of different browsers; contrary to what I wrote yesterday, all my browser on all my local computers seem to be afflicted. pop Posted April 12, 2015 Share #71 Posted April 12, 2015 But it doesn't quite do the same thing, there is some overlap, and isn't as streamlined and user-friendly as the previous two-in-one system. That the new system doesn't recall unread posts from the previous one is not relevant to this issue. Regards, Mark Choosing "Content I have not read" shows both content which has been added since my last visit and content which has not been added but which I have not yet read. In this sense, this function does the same as the similar function in the other system. It does, however, not show which of the entries are new ones and which ones are merely unread. If that is essential to how you used to use the forum, then you've lost a bit of comfort. Personally, it's the same for me as I tend to read everything which has been posted, if only cursorily. I have tried it out: "New content since my last visit" shows four entries. Those four entries also appear in about four pages of "Content I have not yet read". Clicking on the black bullet in front of each item brings me to the first unread post if I have read the preceding ones in the same thread in the new system. Otherwise, it brings me to the first post within the thread. That slows me down a bit but only temporarily.

farnz Posted April 12, 2015 Share #74 Posted April 12, 2015 +1. How can i remove those curious "warning points" from my profile? LCT, I have the same under my profile picture but I can't see it under yours so it's only displayed to the profile owner. I can't see a way to remove it either I'm afraid. It's not clear how warning points are allocated or how many are needed to qualify for a free flight to Syria. Pete.

Jaap did you try restarting the browser, that fixes similar problems with other sites. Edit: Andreas just posted the following in another thread: "There are some issues regarding login and cookies because the domain change isn't registered everywhere (here to)." I spoke to soon. On my other machine I am experiencing the same problems. I appreciate all of the work that Andreas has done, but I am wondering why the changes needed to happen. It's going to take a while for all of these issues to be worked out, I think I'll bow out for a while until it's stable again. farnz Posted April 12, 2015 Share #77 Posted April 12, 2015 ... 1) Background colour of the forum and for pictures. It may be just me but the white background looks a little stark, particularly when viewing photographs - for me the grey background from the old forum looked more cohesive and was easier on the eye, may be making the photographs look better, too. ... Robert, Under My Settings > Profile Customisation > Background Options there is a Hex box for the background colour that brings up a colour wheel to choose from. I've tested it with some different colours but there doesn't appear to be any effect so far. I haven't restarted my browser though because it's doing something in the background. Pete. Pete. Using these controls, you first select the picture or pictures to be uploaded, then actually do upload the picture(s) and finally add the picture(s) to the selected places within the post. If you don't add them to the post, they are just shown as attachments after your post, I believe. No, I ended up in the "members" category instead of in the "moderators" and "staff" groups limiting the number of PMs I am allowed to send. And removing my moderating tools If it were not for Pop being transferred correctly you guys could be having a field day
