jmahto Posted March 24, 2015 Share #21 Posted March 24, 2015 Advertisement (gone after registration) Wow, I've got 2 copies of the LTM version 15mm and neither one of them produces that color cast as long as I use the 21/2.8 PRE-ASPH code and keep the ISO to 800 or below. Btw does LR5 flat field correction work on jpegs or only dng? The main issue I have with Cornerfix is TTBOMK it would require me to shoot dng. LR5 flatfield works only on DNG..... however I saved one of my jpeg as DNG and I could apply the flatfield correction !! Ofcourse this roundabout way defeats the purpose of shooting jpeg. Advertisement Posted March 24, 2015 Posted March 24, 2015 Hi jmahto, Take a look here CV 21/4 or CV15/4.5 pics on M240. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
bocaburger Posted March 24, 2015 Share #22 Posted March 24, 2015 Before Cornerfix I used a software called PanoTools, one of the utilities it contains can be used to correct corner casts in a radial gradient manner. I haven't used it in ages but it did work on jpgs. PanoTools
ayewing Posted March 24, 2015 Share #23 Posted March 24, 2015 The new V3 version of the Voigtlander 15mm is now available. Mine arrived this afternoon so I have only had time to do a few test shots in the garden. http://www.l-camera-forum.com/leica-forum/2909601-post25.html The problem of magenta shift at the sides of the image seems to be almost eliminated. I have not tried the effect of coding but will try to do so tomorrow.

Perhaps they could and used the funds for VI and VII provided to make VIII. Such might be a trend. So I have VI and will get VIII but will be entirely skeptical for anything they produce from now on. Also, are you seeing significant barrel distortion near the edges?

Mornnb Posted March 25, 2015 Share #27 Posted March 25, 2015 Advertisement (gone after registration) I wonder why they could not make it right the first time. Because the previous lens was designed for film. Digital is more sensitive to extreme ray angles. Indeed it appears this lens has increased CA over the previous version, they had to make different compromises.
Mornnb Posted March 25, 2015 Share #28 Posted March 25, 2015 (edited) If you want perfection, you need to buy the $6000 Leica Tri-Elmar or the $3000 18mm Super-Elmar. Sharpness is flat at f8 from corner to centre, zero CA. Voigtlander however provides great lenses for the price, better than your typical DSLR wide angle zoom at and 15mm is wider than most alternatives. ayewing Posted March 25, 2015 Share #29 Posted March 25, 2015 Congrats on getting it so quickly, but the link appears to be broken. Also, are you seeing significant barrel distortion near the edges? lct has kindly corrected the link. My garden pictures were not very helpful in assessing barrel distortion but a quick boring shot of the kitchen tiles this morning did not show any barrel effects.
