jedi996sps Posted January 14, 2015 Share #4 Posted January 14, 2015 I like the limited colour palette. Perhaps the building was used previously as a cinema?....
allamande Posted January 16, 2015 Author Share #5 Posted January 16, 2015 Adam, Iduna, Ali, Thanks for stopping by and for your comments. Always appreciated! I think for me, the story is in the combination of museum and thrift shop. What is it that they are selling in there? What is it that they are displaying in the museum? I couldn't go searching for answers because both were closed at the time I was passing through this town. These old towns with dwindling populations along the Historic Route 66 have many mysteries and lots of charm. Ece
robert_parker Posted January 17, 2015 Share #6 Posted January 17, 2015 It actually looks like an old movie theatre - very definitely a sense of the cinematic about all aspects of the image
wilfredo Posted January 22, 2015 Share #7 Posted January 22, 2015 Advertisement (gone after registration) An ironic combo. Has a Twilight Zone feel.
stuny Posted January 25, 2015 Share #8 Posted January 25, 2015 Lovely, and an unlikely, hot and lightly populated location.
allamande Posted January 27, 2015 Author Share #9 Posted January 27, 2015 Thank you Robert, Wilfredo, Stuart, for your thoughts and feedback. Much appreciated. I don't know what the building was used in its earlier days but Wilfredo's comment hits the mark, it really did look and feel like the Twilight Zone! Hank Taylor Posted January 28, 2015 Share #12 Posted January 28, 2015 This certainly looks like it was once an old movie theater one would go to on a Sat night. Thanks for sharing. Interesting where on 66 was this one taken? Hank

stuny Posted January 30, 2015 Share #16 Posted January 30, 2015 In the tiny town of Sheffield in Tasmania they have 30 or 40 very good murals painted mostly on the sides of buildings (and many fine murals on the sides of buildings in 29 Palms, near Joshua Tree NP), some of them remarkably Twilight Zoney. allamande Posted February 1, 2015 Author Share #17 Posted February 1, 2015 Hank, Henry, Bill, Steve, Stuart, Thank you for taking a look and for your thoughts. I value the input very much. Hank, this is in Needles, California, on the Arizona border. The murals are indeed beautiful and there are others scattered around town. Their theme seem to revolve around the historic Route 66 mythology. Ece
