Adam, Iduna, Ali,

Thanks for stopping by and for your comments. Always appreciated!

I think for me, the story is in the combination of museum and thrift shop. What is it that they are selling in there? What is it that they are displaying in the museum?

I couldn't go searching for answers because both were closed at the time I was passing through this town.

These old towns with dwindling populations along the Historic Route 66 have many mysteries and lots of charm.

Thank you Robert, Wilfredo, Stuart, for your thoughts and feedback. Much appreciated.

I don't know what the building was used in its earlier days but Wilfredo's comment hits the mark, it really did look and feel like the Twilight Zone!

In the tiny town of Sheffield in Tasmania they have 30 or 40 very good murals painted mostly on the sides of buildings (and many fine murals on the sides of buildings in 29 Palms, near Joshua Tree NP), some of them remarkably Twilight Zoney.

Hank, Henry, Bill, Steve, Stuart,

Thank you for taking a look and for your thoughts. I value the input very much.

Hank, this is in Needles, California, on the Arizona border.

The murals are indeed beautiful and there are others scattered around town. Their theme seem to revolve around the historic Route 66 mythology.
