osscat Posted January 6, 2015 Share #7 Posted January 6, 2015 Advertisement (gone after registration) Can someone explain just what is disturbing, the child is holding onto his finger, my dad had huge hands and it was how a small hand could gain some sense of security while out in the city, and here the child is listening to some - presumably - music on his earphones. Couple that with what looks like a substantial hold-all on the guys shoulder I'd say there is not much to be disturbed about - except the apparent subjective prejudice. I have seen some photos here under the title of City Sickness, perhaps that would best describe the responses. Osscat

Osscat Disturbing at first glance - unless you have a crystal ball (not you personally), this image can obviously be read in many very different ways, i can see nothing prejudicial in that. I see it as a thought provoking image.
Iduna Posted January 7, 2015 Share #9 Posted January 7, 2015 Adam, one can see here many stories. These stories are a result of our minds being influenced by our cultural values. If being confronted with an unusual sight we try to find a match in our storage of categories. Apart from all those thoughts it is a good picture with an associative potential. Thanks for sharing it for a discussion.

dickgrafixstop Posted January 8, 2015 Share #12 Posted January 8, 2015 I find it disturbing that a lawyer, obviously a Harvard grad, would stoop to wearing a Northwestern tee shirt. That said, who's leading whom?
skuromis Posted January 8, 2015 Share #13 Posted January 8, 2015 Well, what is disturbing is that the man obviously is a "Northwestener", while his (?) child is from Utah Rocks. Does this go together at all?
