A fantastic result!

Pete, a well deserved win. Through the year your work has been consistently high and it is no surprise that you have won.

To the close followers I add my congratulations as their submissions are all worthy.

The whole event was, I am sure, extraordinary for all participants. It certainly was for me.

Thanks to Andy also for doing the 'hard yards' behind the scenes to keep the event flowing.

Congratulations, Pete Farnsworth!

'The Butcher's Boy' took the pole position from the very beginning of the voting and stayed there until the end.

Congratulations, Nick de Marco, Jono Slack, Andy Barton, Christoph Dobrusskin and Lars Valk!

Congratulations, all participants!

Thank you all for your exceptional photography.

Congratulations Pete! A great photo - and a well deserved winner.

Also to Nick Andy Christoph and Lars for worthy runners up.

Special thanks to Andy for all his organisational skills - fantastic.

Great to meet everyone again - and to make some new friends as well.

See you all again in Vienna!

Very well done Pete, many congratulations. Also to everyone else who entered; there were some great images but unfortunately mine wasn't one of them. That's good because it means I'll have to attend next year to try and do better.

Look forward to seeing as many as possible in Vienna.

Cheers, Tom

Thank you all for your kind comments on The Butcher's Boy, which was a spur of the moment shot as Semrich, LarsV and I stopped momentarily near the fish market at the Beyoglu end of the Galata bridge (the one with all the fishing rods). I had to darken Lars's face at the top right of the picture to prevent him being recognised and providing a clue to the identity of the guilty photographer and managed to squeeze Richard's fingers in at the left.

Congratulations to Nick, Jono, Andy, Christoph, and Lars for their placings.

Thank you to Andy for once again so ably organising the One Challenge and thank you to all who were able to make it to Istanbul and take part and, of course, a huge thank you to all who liked my photo enough to translate it into votes. I am truly humbled.

On the one hand it was a shame that some of the stalwarts of the One Challenge, for a variety of reasons, were not able to join us for example Bill, Earleygallery, Stunsworth, Spylaw4, Robert_Parker, Ivor and Elaine, TopFloor, and Katerina but it was very rewarding to meet some first timers such as Falstaff and Jaqui, Melanie, KamilSukun, and Dagmar's aunt and uncle. It was really pleasant to meet up and talk nonsense again with some familiar faces, especially erl who travelled all the way from The Land Downunda.

Now, the prize. As previously, I've decided to donate the prize to charity but this time I'll split it between two. I'll use part of it to sponsor the training of a guide dog through Guide Dogs for the Blind, I'll also sign up for a monthly donation to them from my own pocket, and I'll donate the balance of the prize to the Association for International Cancer Research.

I'm already looking forward to meeting up with everyone in Vienna (even if Ultravox won't be there!). Or will they … ?

Pete.

Congratulations to Pete! Well deserved. And to Nick, Jono, Andy and Christoph. I completely forgot to vote myself, but that would only have emphasized Pete's pole position.

Once again, a big thank you to Andy and all participants. I very much enjoyed the couple of days in Istanbul and seeing familiar and new faces. It is a very nice crowd.

A little late for this but have been busy with deadlines.

Congratulations to Pete for a superb image - well done.

It has shades of Ara Guler, rather apt as we were in his city.

Congratulations also to everybody else for making the whole event such a delightful affair.
