Also 515 here, also silver M-A, but built two years earlier.
So there may be little method, if any, in these serial numbers.

I'm another 0515 owner, bought in May 2020. When I got it home I was surprised (and pleased) to see the other numbers were 1234. First time ever I've had an "interesting" serial number!

It's engraved on the top plate in front of the accessory shoe and there are no spaces between the numbers

Sorry, I forgot that no spaces in the numbering,

just like mine posted in #40, so many years ago

while some M2 has those spaces, like this one (not mine)

I have a black M-A, but that silver M-A looks so so classic. Love it. (Having the silver lens only adds to it.)

How’s the paint on other peoples black chrome M-A? Is it very easy to see imperfections such as blemishes or paint unevenness under certain lighting?? The reason I ask is because my new M-A paint on the top plate abd advance lever is already showing signs like it’s aging under certain lighting after a few weeks of usage. Also I’m unable to wipe these blemishes out even with isopropyl alcohol and microfibre towel. I know it’s just a tool to be used but when paying this price, I wonder if it’s normal for the black chrome. Thanks!

FWIW, the black chrome finish on my 2017 M-A doesn't have any obvious blemishes/imperfections.

Dam, mine appears to have some kinda coating issue on the top plate. It’s like premature wear of the black chrome paint fading..

Aren't Leica's supposed to be assembled by hand and so forth. Your M-A looks stunning to me. You have an awesome rig. Enjoy it.

Would look more usable with the aperture at f8 and the shutter at 1/500th sec.  ;)

I just came back from dusk shooting where 1/125 is needed for an aperture of f/4. And I usually like to turn the lens aperture all the way down when not using

Just like my wife's M8 many years of use.

My black chrom M-A still has nothing like that on top.
