If the serial # of your M240 ends with the letter R, it was a rental camera that was reconditioned before being sold to you as a new camera.

Surely, If you order online and the Box is unsealed - you must question.

At a retail store the cameras are on display, New but unboxed. So if you want a brand new and untouched unit you have to ask for such.. Or ask for a discount on one of the Demo units.. Every Leica I have ever purchased from the M3, M6, original Fuji Digital have ALL been presented to me in a completely sealed box.. I handled demos, but insisted on a sealed unit.. If it's new it should be in a sealed box,

Demo cars have the mileage, new should have (and in my experience) no more than 10miles max... No excuses...
