Rick Posted July 2, 2014 Share #223 Posted July 2, 2014 well you've posted this 7 times now and given us zero info. Im going to guess operator error...but without info on how you are trying to change the color and view it we really can't attempt to help you. Digitalfx's post is what we need. Repeated posts and telling us to be patient(!) will not help you. Unless, you can be very specific about digitalfx's question in the blue part. bocaburger Posted July 2, 2014 Share #225 Posted July 2, 2014 AFAIK the only thing that changes color is the shimmering border around whatever the peaking is focusing on. The white frames delineating the magnified area remain white.
Rick Posted July 2, 2014 Share #226 Posted July 2, 2014 Ok, maybe now we are getting somewhere. What square area? It is the focus area that shimmers.

Jeff S Posted July 2, 2014 Share #232 Posted July 2, 2014 Last question if understanding correctly when only perfect focus shimmering colors occur around what you are focusing on ? and white border remains white [ ], Thanks my friends Go to the 3min, 30 sec mark in , and see what it looks like (using red border lines). Similar concept using EVF rather than LV on back screen. Jeff

lct Posted July 2, 2014 Author Share #234 Posted July 2, 2014 Yes i have no M240 with me here but the white colour of what you call the border (in fact four white corners if memory serves) has no reason to change because it has nothing to do with focus peaking per se. The white corners are just delimiting the area of 10x magnification. So whatever colour you choose for focus peaking, and even if you disable the latter, the corners will keep their pure whiteness for ever.
rafikiphoto Posted July 2, 2014 Share #235 Posted July 2, 2014 Not able to change color focus aid?, maybe doing something wrong or not right setting in LV? After yoy select the desired colour make sure you press the 'set' button.

MarkP Posted July 2, 2014 Share #237 Posted July 2, 2014 Well I've had more of a play with the camera and the new firmware. I really like: Auto-ISO in M mode. ISO number displayed in white which is so much easier to read. Calling up the horizon superimposed on the EVF image by pressing the Info button. Direct EV correction without having to hold down the button on the front of the camera. Different focus peaking colours? Meh...I'm using green for a while but I'm not sure whether 'll change form red. Classic / LV disabled. I only use Live View off the rear LCD for occasional tripod work. I'm so used to pressing the top button to review image on the M9 and Monochrom that I'm always pressing the top LV button instead of the 2nd Play button on the M - these should have been the other way around. And it's easy to unintentionally activate LV. So deactivating the LV button is very welcome for me - this has pissed me off more than anything else about the M user interface. I've turned off the video button as I so rarely use video. Crop mode is actually very nice, especially 1:1 Green or blue focus peaking? Meh. I need to try them more... MarkP Posted July 2, 2014 Share #238 Posted July 2, 2014 Oh, and I should add that I'm very disappointed that the very limited long exposure time of 60 seconds or so has not been addressed.
marcyf64 Posted July 2, 2014 Share #239 Posted July 2, 2014 Hi - I am in the U.S. and working on a Mac with latest software. When I click the download link on the leica page for the updated firm an icon with the name of the firmware file establishes itself but the firmware doesn't download - tried many any times - I am able to download other files so no problem with my computer. Has anyone had this problem? Any suggestions? I am dying to try out the new firmware! Thanks
wlaidlaw Posted July 2, 2014 Share #240 Posted July 2, 2014 One pleasant surprise with the new firmware is focus peaking is now present on lenses which previously did not have sufficient contrast to trigger it. Yesterday I was taking some architectural shots and to save my self some post processing work, was using my Hartblei Super Rotator tilt shift lens. Now previously this lens which is based on an old Pentacon medium format design, did not have enough contrast to trigger peaking until around f11. It is now triggering focus peaking at its wide open setting of f2.8. Then just to check, I put on my Zeiss Opton Sonnar 50mm f1,5 lens. Now this used not to trigger peaking until around f5,6. It is now triggering from f2. I am delighted with this as I use quite a lot of older lenses on various adapters, some non-RF coupled, so this makes life easier for me.
