Don't understand why your other post was deleted (mods???), but this is a worthless Russian fake.

Well not totally worthless, i see them go for 50 - 100 euros on the Swedish Market at least. I Think they have some kind of value for people who collect war memorabilia.

I agree, but you can't call this a "war memorabilia", it's only the fantasy product of an insane with no correlation with wartime.

Why fake? There is a simple explanation for all the german misspellings only the Nazi works cameras had because hundreds of thousands russian war slaves worked at Leica factory that time, also zillions of engravers. Basically they all worked for the 1939-1945 EBAY auctions of "Enst Laits Whatslar - U-Boat-Olympicschen Spielen-department"-cameras

p.s. One day we may see an offer like: Camera of my beloved grandfather - engraved "Lagerkommandanten Treblinka" and there will be hundreds of buyers for such an evil copy and all will tell their photo club friends, that it was their grandpa and that this is a family treasure. On top they may spit on the victims and show concentration camp photos as proofs of originality :o

Not enough,Rona|d we can go further...Years ago I saw on sale the "original camera" that the great grandpa of the seller bought from a nephew of a Napoleon attendant. He told that the camera was a present given after the battle of Austerlitz (then the name of the camera: was a Litz I) and lost in Russia during the Russian campaign in 1812. Now we know the "true" (?): that camera was stolen and sold :)

We are witnessing a disturbing trend here. If the production rate of fake Leicas from Russia exceeds the output of the Leica factory in Solms at this level, soon there will be so many of them that real Leicas will be considered fake. Future generations will believe that Leica only ever made real cameras during WWII. ;)
