scott kirkpatrick Posted April 12, 2007 Share #21  Posted April 12, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) No I think my order is lost. Not sure they got my fax. Bummer Have to re submit the darn thing  Guy, use the phone. I wondered why my 30% lens was so slow in coming, so I called Solms (in English). It took one relay to get to the office that handles this. They confirmed that they had never heard from me (humph!), but said that if I faxed them my requirements and the signed Ts&Cs, they would enter it immediately. I did that, and it's on its way. It should work the same with filters.  scott

ChrisC Posted April 12, 2007 Share #22 Â Posted April 12, 2007 It's AttaGuy time, and rightly so. Â I'd like to be the first on the forum to draw Leica shareholder's attention to Guy's predilection for large, colourful, exotic, and expensive cocktails being supped in photogenic landscapes with his buddies. Â It's also rumoured that he collects shoes, or was that someone else [i get so confused]? Â So; it's all back to Yosemite for cocktails, and to admire Guy's new red dot hiking shoes. Applause, applause, applause. Â .....................Chris

Guy, your positivity, energy and ability to get things done whilst still being a thoroughly nice guy are amazing and I am deeply grateful for them. Without people like you, Sean, Jamie, HC, Sergio and others here, we would all be much more in darkness than light. Thank you! Â Tim

rami G Posted April 12, 2007 Share #26 Â Posted April 12, 2007 I want to add my words of appreciation to Guy and to the amazing attitude of Leica. I did pay the M8 price with confidence that Leica is not simply another camera maker. Thanks.

wparsonsgisnet Posted April 12, 2007 Author Share #29 Â Posted April 12, 2007 On another subject, Guy, is the picture of the strikingly beautiful young girl steering your 60-foot cabin cruiser, your daughter? Â I noticed it earlier and was taken by the beauty of the portrait. What a beautiful child. Great eyes. And, she's still too young to say, "Get lost, dad." topoxforddoc Posted April 12, 2007 Share #31 Â Posted April 12, 2007 Guy, Â Many thanks for your great commitment to providing us all with your experience and testing. Although I haven't yet bought a M8, your advice was instrumental in my purchase of my DMR. Whilst you have had to leave your DMR and R system, I am still very grateful for your help. Without your input, amateurs like myself would find it much more difficult to take the plunge and commit considerable amounts of cash. It's great that Solms has recognised your efforts too. well done. Â Best wishes, Â Charlie
