schmolinski Posted August 17, 2013 Share #82 Posted August 17, 2013 Too many thanks buttons to hit' date=' thanks everybody. Yes, the camera is insured. In theory I could even claim the costs from the city for not cleaning up after their work. I'm just keeping my fingers crossed for a speedy repair. It should be in Solms this morning.[/quote'] Wow, that really looks like a tough fall. And you can be sure I know what you're talking about. I fall yesterday and hit my head, blood was flooding and my camera equipment smashed on the ground, luckily it was wooden ground. So I definitely know what you are talking about! Solms will cure your technical treasure... But who cares for you? Hope you recover fast All the best!

Paulus Posted August 19, 2013 Share #92 Posted August 19, 2013 I'm sorry for you that you have to miss your camera for a while. I was just thinking a few days back: " If this Leica M camera would hit the ground hard , how would that be. " I did not want it to be your camera. I hope you'll have it back in right order. It's a wonderful camera to use!
Jjbru Posted August 19, 2013 Share #93 Posted August 19, 2013 Very sad for U. 10 years ago I bought a Nikon F4 , when charging my second film, in the dark, the end of the film jumped through the curtain and ruptures it. The Body was 3 days old. I called Nikon and they changed itbfor free, beong as upset as I was, as an old User. Maybe Leica does the same with your unhappy event. Kind regards
johnbuckley Posted August 19, 2013 Share #94 Posted August 19, 2013 Jaap - your plight prompts this memory. Forgive me for jumping in your thread, but I think you'll enjoy it. A few years ago when my son was about five, I drove home in a brand new BMW. I wanted to take him for a drive, and had some laundry to drop off, so we drove to the cleaners. It so happens that that very day, the cleaner had repaved his small parking lot, and slightly changed the dimensions, making it smaller. And I scraped, badly, the side of my brand new car. When we got home, as soon as the door opened, my son burst out to my wife, "Daddy hit an iceberg!" She said, "What?" He said, "We'll, he scraped his new car and started shouting 'Oh Ship! Ship! Ship!" We laughed. Which is what you have to do at moments like this. May your camera be flown back to you as speedily as possible. JB

Less than one week door to door. I have no complaints. the knee isn't half bad either.
