shrooman Posted June 30, 2013 Share #3 Posted June 30, 2013 My second day with one here. I'm struggling with the .DNG file and Apple not recognizing them issue which is a drag, but the camera itself seems to be excellent so far in my test shots. Eager to put it through it's paces, but have not had the opportunity yet.

platypus Posted June 30, 2013 Share #6 Posted June 30, 2013 Nil regrets. This is absolutely the most amazing and consistently pleasing camera that I have ever had the pleasure of using in my 60 years of photography experience. (35 of those years using Leica cameras and lenses)

snooper Posted June 30, 2013 Share #10 Posted June 30, 2013 When the dealer called me to say the M was waiting for me, I thought I could bring in my MM and have it sold to lower the M invoice. Thanks God I didn't. Now that I used the M for 2 months, I would rather sell it and keep the MM :-) This camera is just amazing. I got mine back in September 2012, and noticed that the only lenses I used so far were the Crons 28 and 50. Almost never fitted the Lux, nor the Cron 35.. At the end of the day, one camera, 2 lenses, small bag, great pictures.
jaapv Posted June 30, 2013 Share #11 Posted June 30, 2013 Over a year now. It is still my first choice camera.

thighslapper Posted June 30, 2013 Share #13 Posted June 30, 2013 Wonderful camera. Who would have thought such a superficially pointless idea would have produced such a gem ?? An MM & M make a terrific complementary pair
wattsy Posted June 30, 2013 Share #14 Posted June 30, 2013 Regrets, I've had a few. But then again, too few to mention.
egrossman Posted June 30, 2013 Share #15 Posted June 30, 2013 No regrets at all. I would say (as others have on this thread) that it's usually my first choice to shoot with (my other camera being my M9). I'll be receiving my M240 next Monday when I return home to San Francisco and I'll be curious to see what the split is between the MM and the M once the initial "new toy" curiosity wears off for the color M. The MM is really such a joy to use. I took about 400 pictures at my brother-in-law's wedding a week ago and the quality of the photos have blown everyone away. MarkP Posted June 30, 2013 Share #16 Posted June 30, 2013 None. In fact, the more I use the Monochrom the more I'm impressed by it. I'm in a similar situation to Erik regarding use of my M9 and waiting-to-arrive M240.
Arif Posted June 30, 2013 Share #17 Posted June 30, 2013 I have only had mine for a short time but absolutely love it. It is challenging but if you nail it, then it is a great feeling.
Nick_S Posted June 30, 2013 Share #18 Posted June 30, 2013 No regrets at all. It is a wonderful camera that I am still surprised was brought into existence. Even the complaints about the resolution of the display were a non-issue -- the black and white images it displays are useful like contact/proof prints. I use older-specification 4GB class 4 SD cards in the manner of film with 90 exposures (JPEG and DNG) per card and continue to use it in the style of my M6. Guest borge Posted June 30, 2013 Share #20 Posted June 30, 2013 No regrets at all. At some point I started having second thoughts about only shooting B&W (it is my only camera) and then I had a M9-P loaner for a few weeks, and every shot that I made with the M9-P that I was satisfied with was converted to B&W anyway... It's the best camera I've ever owned. It's the only camera I've ever owned that has made new releases of other cameras uninteresting: The MM has totally removed the urge to consider any other camera, no matter what it is. The only regret I have is not with the camera itself, it's the 35mm lens that I purchased in addition to the 50mm lens I am definitely a 50mm person so I am selling the 35mm since I never use it. And when I use it I always end up wishing that I rather had the 50mm mounted. So I'm going back to 1-camera-1-lens. I've owned my MM as my only camera for about 9 months now.
