Haven't been doing much photography since having back surgery in September but did find a non-Ai 55 1.2 Nikkor S for my Nikkormat FS. Picked it up from the shop yesterday after they cleaned fifty years of crud out of the helicoil. Focus is smooth and the glass is good. Wandered around the yard with a roll of TMax 400 and a Sekonic 398 meter. These were exposed at f4 for 1/125th and developed in HC-110E, scanned with a Sony A7II FE90 2.8 Macro:

Having a brighter focusing screen is a bonus of moving to the 1.2. Like most SLR cameras of the mid 1960's the FS has a matte screen with a central micro prism but no split image. I was worried my old eyes wouldn't be able to focus a lens with such a shallow depth of field successfully but all I need is a little more practice.

I guess the "Undefined" concept has crept into my sub-conscious mind.  Very cleansing.
