Nice one, how do you like new acros ?

Thank you, I liked the old and I like the new Acros. Emulsionwise it would be my first choice  because of its nice tones and the extremely  fine grain.  But: nearly twice the price of the closest competitor, the Delta 100 and a thinner film base, which makes handling a bit tricky.   The spectral sensitivity is different too, Fuji doesn't comment on this but the dealers call it a "Slight orthopanchromatic sensitisation: Red and skin tones are rendered a little bit darker compared to most other ISO 100/21° films" .

Oh, no, talk about an intimidating landscape swallowing up the present with tribal memory. You are truly channeling the unseen seen, again.

Thank you Rog. I went to this place on my own on a quiet day and nobody around --  your words give a good account of what it felt like.

Very impressive landscape, and the square format fits this scene perfectly.

James, thank you. As you know, the square is a challenge sometimes, but if you win, you might get a nice result.  How's your Autocord doing ?

Beautiful! Looks so three- dimensional

Thank you Marc. I thought about the special look too--I think it´s the fine grain and the  tonal range of the Acros combined with the lens of the SWC.

Leica II (Model D) ~ 3.5cm Summaron ~ Ilford FP4

Hi Charles, good idea and good picture. I'll follow your example.

Firstly, let me explain a bit the context of my contribution which was taken a bit further down the beach from your participants. Giant sun glasses are gracing the sand there, and serve as a playground for children. At a certain point a small girl was climbing up, and, as one has to be extra careful when photographing children these days, I decided to ask the parents if I could take a picture. They said no. I turned away, but when I had walked two steps I re-considered, went back and asked if I could take a picture if I left the child's head out of the frame. They said yes and you can see the result here. And here a picture of the giant sun glasses with a more conventional framing.

Pen-F, 60/1.5, Neopan 400. Totally screwed up the lighting I had envisaged, mostly by leaving the softbox on the strobe that was high and to camera left to make 'butterfly lighting'. Also the fill light on camera right was too strong. Ended up bland as bland can be.

Now I can't post the picture here, but yesterday I did it again with a digital camera (partly not to waste film and partly because I need the autofocus if I'm the subject and there was only me home). Got what I had intended first try, and so next weekend I'll have to do it all over again with film!
