assumption of depth brought about by a pictorial plane that transitions between dark and light. This phenomenon, so expertly and dramatically managed by the painters of and following the Renaissance (I think of, as one later example, Edward Hopper)

Thank you Phil for acknowledging. I absolutely agree-transferring the 3-dimensional impression of our vision onto a 2-dimensional medium is a challenge. I'm working on this since the early days of my photographic journey. Painters have struggled with this before us... think of the Dutch masters with their wide landscapes, the Renaissance painters with the invention of perspective to suggest depth--up to the modern artists. And even in abstract visual art there is depth by gradual transition between dark and light--as  so often proved by Rog. So, often quoted, in a way we are ( I am ) a dwarf standing on the shoulders of our pictorialist ancestry. And yes, I thought about the adequate aperture before taking this  photo to get the right amount of blur... With an RF-Camera, there is always a bit guess work and luck involved... and here it seems to have  worked out.

Marc, I think that wistful expression, so beautifully captured in your portrait, will be becoming more and more commonplace in the world...

I agree with you! In times of quarantine all over the world looking through the window is not was it was in former times

Have you tried the Superpan 200 as well HillAvoider? It's a great all-rounder, and dabbles well into the I/R, if and when you want, or plays as a normal film as well.

Gary

no but I'm impressed with the Infrared so far so I will definitely give Superpan 200 a go thanks

I had to look it up, of course, to find that this pastry includes raspberry jam. This is better than Charlton Heston's Soylent Green scene costarring strawberry jam.

...er yes, considerably better than soylent green, even a la mode with raspberry jam. If you get the chance, try one, they're delicious.

Yes, well worth the look anyway.

I don't believe it's an I/R as such, but plays well if you treat it as such. I'd have to dig out the info (suggest you do), but recall having to buy a specific I/R cut filter, as my "usual" ones were not quite suitable.

What I liked though was at box speed, no filter, it was a nice all round film. Once filtered it became slow, something like ISO-6 IIRC, but on a tripod, and mid-roll you had I/R film. Finished the I/R shot(s)? No problem, filter off, and back to box speed. What's not to like?
