A year ago I was made an offer, I couldn't resist: a chrome NLX new... I hardly used the lens so far, because the weight and the volume is a bit intimidating; apart from the fact, that i tend to loose things ... So this autumn I took just 2 lenses for my trip to Spain: the NLX and the SEM 18... a hard choice, but it made me more familiar with the 50mm. I'm not sure if I´ll keep it, but I feel tempted . Fascinating is how people react to this lens( those who recognize it ) --it seems to be equivalent to a new ( or very old ) shiny Porsche ... either hate or adoration--nothing in between.

This is  after sunset, 0,95. focus on the pine

Back near the dawn of time, when this thread had a mere 717 pages, I posted a photo of a house I passed one day and thought it worth a frame of the Acros 100 in my M2. This was the photo:

Little did I know that three years later we have bought that house and the lake, and are now renovating as fast as we can to make it a suitable home for Pippa. It's just a couple of miles from her main workplace, which will be a lot easier than driving for over an hour through winter snow. It's a lovely post and beam open plan construction, so I must take a camera and show some of the interior. Currently a great deal of it is ripped apart to make it into what she wants. It's a bit odd to be planning for her in this way but we must be practical.

None of us can see the future, but we can plan and hope - which you are doing.  My best wishes that these hopes and plans come to fruition, Chris.

In the vernacular. Another frame from my first test roll in 'new' 503CX. Tri-X & Rodinal.  It really was a typical December day in Wiltshire, dull, damp and dismal! - but needs must!

The first test roll in the 'new' 503CX (ref above) taken Thurs afternoon in very dull, dreary, overcast and damp conditions - not exactly ideal but such tests won't wait!

503CX with Acute Matt D screen, 80mm Planar CF T*, Tri-X, Rodinal 1:50.

Looks just like mine! Has it been CLA'ed?? I love mine to bits!

Thanks Adam. The "London Bridge" of the title refers to a rock arch formation near where I live. It looks nothing like London Bridge in London, of course. Interestingly, there was a second stone formation in my State of Victoria which was also, confusingly, named "London Bridge". It, though, had two spans. Even so it looked nothing like London Bridge in London. Then, just a few years ago, one of the spans fell down (just like in the nursery song) and left a tourist stranded on the other span. That formation is now imaginatively called "London Arch". The tourist was safely rescued by helicopter.

The rock formations in the picture make up part of one end of the local (to me) span.

very interesting, Phil.  Never knew about that!

I went back to ye page 717 and after a few minutes found myself enthralled in scrolling through some really amazing images.  Wow.  I had to force myself to stop!

Looks like a really lovely property and I wish you and Pippa a lot of health and enjoyment in it!

Is it healthy to be so stealthy hungry with an appetite that keeps craving MORE? What does Rocco want? Edward G. Robinson gives it to us in Key Largo: "More!" Never mind the 870 calories for a large French fries.

One of my favourite quotes comes from that film: "You don't like it, do you Rocco, the storm? Show it your gun, why don't you? If it doesn't stop, shoot it."

This is a snap I took really just to practice exposure, there being a wide dynamic range in the scene. I was just interested to see how it turned out rather than thinking about composition, but there's something about it I like! It's a lane that drops past the church. We take it whenever we walk down to the lake or I dash down to the rescue base.

HA Ha LOL I never even noticed that Nathan's has the audacity to put caloric content of their junk out there like that.  I am sure everyone (like me) totally ignores it !
