Very cheap 4x5: Arista Ortho Litho Film. Film seems to be a bit of an enigma. I am going to continue to play with it. This is the best result I have acheived....So far. Shot from Linhof Technika III, Schneider Xenar 135/4.7, @ 3 ISO, HC110 1/200, 12 minutes.

Got the 3D feel this one Mike.

While I am not for the minute suggesting 120 Vs 135, I would have been interested to see the 35mm shot taken right next door, same film, same FOV lens etc. These 6x7 shots are showing such detail.

I've got the same/similar debate raging in my head at the moment having shot a swag of 120 Portra 400 in Europe last month. Comparing to 35mm Portra 400 last year. Different in a nice way.

I used an Olympus XA2 to shoot some colour 35mm at some of these spots, it won't be a true comparison but I will post them side-by-side when I develop the colour film.

It's easy, Adam, I just over-expose the film!

 

The point that I am trying to convey that I guess you are missing is that the vuescan/coolscan seems to do a good job of re-pixelating the image to avoid highlights when set properly, at least at modest overexposure.  Granted, however, I can't vouch for the same result at a, say, a 3+ stop overexposure.
