L-r: Croft gate at Huisinis, Huisinis slipway with Scarp beyond and the Scarp boat Stiuir Mi (Direct Me), hauled up next to the slip. There are no permanent residents on Scarp now but occasionally Crofters visit the Island to take sheep across or bring them back to Harris in Stiuir Mi.  She can take up to 25 sheep and it takes two men to row her.  There was a time when Scarp men would row Stiuir Mi to Leverburgh and even as far as Uist to take sheep to market. Huisinis, a small hamlet on the far west side of the Isle of Harris, came into being when four poaching families were given land at the end of the beach to build their own crofts by the Laird at the time.  The agreement was that in exchange for the land, the four troublesome families would stop poaching his deer and salmon. Poaching still goes on. Leica MP 50mm c-sonnar f1.5 Delta 100 in DDX 1:4    Welcome, dear visitor! This roll of film was ruined by Ilford's notorious 'measles', which is visible in the image.  I've had quite a few rolls affected by this, it means that I can't make prints and sell them.  The only way I've found to avoid the problem is to use up and process the film asap after the film has been loaded in the camera.  It's infuriating, especially given the cost of film, and I won't buy Ilford 120 roll films at all now until they deal with the problem. It's caused by a reaction between the emulsion and the backing paper, probably humidity related.  Ilford 35mm films do not seem to have the problem, Delta 100 & 400 are amongst my favourite films in any format and it's very disappointing that I can no longer use them in 120 rolls. I had the same problem with a batch of 120 Pan F+ 3 years ago. The lab told me that  it is caused by condensation. Which I don't understand because the rolls come in a sealed, airtight wrap and there should be not so much humidity inside to allow condensation.. and it seems to happen inside the wrap with the film unused: I shot some rolls in a go and developed them immediately : all films showed the same `measles´ As said, the whole brick of Pan F was unusable for photography. I used it up to check for light leaks, film-transport consistency and so on. A pita anyway.  It never occurred with Delta 100 or 400 though.. Did you approach Ilford ? Edited July 17, 2023 by Kl@usW.

In my experience the time from removing the film from the wrapping to it being affected seems to vary quite a lot, I've had films ruined within a couple of days and others have been fine after several weeks inside the camera.  Kodak rollfilms films seem to fare better, the backing paper is different to Ilford's which I'm sure you know. Edited July 17, 2023 by Ouroboros 2

As with my other recent portraits, I met him at his exhibition (in his own house) on the fringe of the Rencontres de la Photographie in Arles the week before last. The exhibition was of photos about agave cultivation and mescal production in Mexico, and the communities that develop around them. They are passionate about the agave; if it was not obvious from their conversation, I was left in no doubt after visiting his bathroom (the second photo, taken with a Q2, not film). Lovely friendly people. MP, Summilux-M 75mm, Portra 160 Welcome, dear visitor! I was helping a friend to develop his roll, taken using rollei TLR, it is rollei infrared 400, developed in ilford HC… i was torn to find the culprit to the point i was thinking my developer is bad.. any thought will be appreciated

It seems to be a particular batch of backing paper, my film was dated 2018 but I have older and younger films in my fridge that aren't affected. You get that mottled pattern and often a lot of white (in the print) dust-like particles. As already explained Ilford will replace it. 1
