tashley Posted March 28, 2013 Share #106 Posted March 28, 2013 A mixture of lenses (from 18mm F3.8 thru 50 Lux to 90 Macro Elmar) at a mixture of apertures. Some focussed in Live View, some via EVF and some RF - all of which work fine... Just messing about, nothing 'serious'.. (Macro Elmar, Live View, tripod, studio flash F8 ISO200 - didn't ahve time to get the lighting just peachy, was really trying to see how the Macro Elmar worked as a macro lens now that I have Live View!) (50 Lux F8 ISO 200 RF focus) (50 Lux F2 ISO 200 RF focus) (50 Lux F1.4 ISO 200 RF focus) One more coming up...

andym911 Posted March 28, 2013 Share #108 Posted March 28, 2013 Two more M240 shots from today. First with 35 Summilux FLE at ISO3200. The second with 0.95 Noctilux wide open at ISO500. stephen nice shot (2nd) could be better with stopping down the Nocti to 2,8 or so to get a bit more DOF and contrast... andy
StephenPatterson Posted March 29, 2013 Share #109 Posted March 29, 2013 stephen nice shot (2nd) could be better with stopping down the Nocti to 2,8 or so to get a bit more DOF and contrast... andy Thanks Andy. This shot came out exactly as I intended. I shoot my Noctilux from f/0.95 to f/16, depending on the look I want to create and my personal artistic vision, and I disagree that it would have been better at f/2.8. jonoslack Posted March 29, 2013 Share #110 Posted March 29, 2013 We just got back from China . . . Here are some of the faces that we saw Faces From China
farnz Posted March 29, 2013 Share #111 Posted March 29, 2013 Jono, Typically impressive pictures from you but your picture No. 53 of the old lady in the half light is the jewell in the crown for me. Just breath-taking. I notice you used a 90 mm lens a lot - was that the 90 Elmarit-M rather than the 90 APO-Summicron-M asph? Pete.
tashley Posted March 29, 2013 Share #112 Posted March 29, 2013 Jono, 2, 21, 22, 31, 52, 53 are my favourites from a typically lovely bunch. Thanks!

Just breath-taking. I notice you used a 90 mm lens a lot - was that the 90 Elmarit-M rather than the 90 APO-Summicron-M asph? Pete. Hi Pete I hope you're well. The 90 elmarit-M (the last one with the pulled out hood). It was actually the first M lens I ever bought (together with a 50 'cron - long gone). I'd love to have the 'cron, but I wouldn't use it so much as it's so big. The China trip was really useful in this respect - I only took M lenses, and ended up using the smaller ones. all the best

thompsonkirk Posted March 31, 2013 Share #118 Posted March 31, 2013 Thank you, Tim & Jono, for these excellent shots! Your expertise with the camera yields not only fine pictures but important evidence to those of us in doubt. I'm still up-in-the-air about the sensor until there's a firmware upgrade. The primary colors, especially the reds, continue to look too saturated/strained/unreal to me. Kirk

Olsen Posted April 4, 2013 Share #120 Posted April 4, 2013 I have tried to post the photo but the image was not accepted by the forum , it is 1200 px width thank you All you have to do is resize it so that no side is longer than 1024 pixels. Stuart Nordheimer Your posting was just excellent! With the time that the digital files from Leica cameras becomes better and bigger it is impossible to 'tell' something on technical capabilities with the stringent limits on file sizes that is set here on these discussion part of l camera-forum. You found a smart way around this.
