roguewave Posted March 6, 2013 Share #25 Posted March 6, 2013 So far, I'd say I'm greatly underwhelmed by the output. This is not a really fine high iso camera, by any means. Very muddy files in low light. Loss of the subtle, transitional colors & generally dull, flat look to most of the images. Not up to the Leica standards I am accustomed to. The best files I have seen from this camera are B&W conversions. Noise is a problem as well in very low light, even with the Nocti. Let's hope the engineers will be able to refine & improve the output.

Ecar Posted March 6, 2013 Share #33 Posted March 6, 2013 I was invited to the press pre-opening of the Geneva Auto Show today and thought it would be a good occasion to test the camera's response to mixed indoor lighting. I have applied ZERO corrections to the files below. WB was set to Auto and poor framing/exposure are entirely my fault. Shots 1, 2 and 4 were taken with the Summilux 35 ASPH (non FLE), 3 and 5 were taken with the CV Nokton 50/1.1. All handheld and all at ISO 200, wide open or thereabout. Focusing done exclusively through the RF. Apologies for the strictly technical subjects... Welcome, dear visitor! Jamie Roberts Posted March 7, 2013 Share #34 Posted March 7, 2013 For auto white balance those are surprisingly ok. @ Ben--are you looking at RAW files yet? Or just these web posts?

pieterpronk Posted March 7, 2013 Share #37 Posted March 7, 2013 Wow, Jono! I'm not sure why... Maybe I am starting to come around to the new sensor, or maybe they just have something of a look that could work for me... But those pictures in Venice got me finally feeling some real enthousiasm about the M. So...,Thanks!

Ecar Posted March 8, 2013 Share #39 Posted March 8, 2013 For auto white balance those are surprisingly ok. Exactly my thoughts. I could not have obtained the same out-of-camera results using AWB on the M9.
