Mr_Jones Posted January 9, 2013 Share #2 Posted January 9, 2013 If you photograph a blank background (wall/sheet of paper) with the lens stopped down it will give a better idea of what's there. In my limited experience this problem is normally dust/oil on the sensor and needs to be cleaned carefully with one of the recommended swab/solution systems. lct Posted January 9, 2013 Share #3 Posted January 9, 2013 Simple dirts on the sensor most probably.
luigi bertolotti Posted January 9, 2013 Share #4 Posted January 9, 2013 I agree... dirt on sensor most probably ... any "point" on the lens can't translate in a "spot" on the picture... it is not on focus, obviously...

Jerren Posted January 10, 2013 Share #8 Posted January 10, 2013 Welcome to digital photography! Just blow the sensor off using a rocket blower.
Philinflash Posted January 11, 2013 Share #9 Posted January 11, 2013 Those lines in the f22 capture worry me. They may be scratches on the sensor and, therefore, not cleanable.
jaapv Posted January 11, 2013 Share #10 Posted January 11, 2013 The OP says they are on the wall; moving the camera during exposure should make them disappear.
Ahmed ghazzawi Posted January 12, 2013 Author Share #11 Posted January 12, 2013 Those lines in the f22 capture worry me. They may be scratches on the sensor and, therefore, not cleanable. No don't worry the scratches are on the wall , there is only black dots some bigger than others and only show as I close the exposure , when I am on f4 I don't see a single one of them , when I am on f8 they show a little . I bought the camera second hand , it's in a v good condition and only has 11000 activation . And I love the camera so much it's not leaving my bag . I will travel to Dubai soon where there is a leica dealer , but in case that dealer didn't accept or there was no possibility for any reason , can I clean it in any other shop ? Or shall I do it my self ," I don't want to mess with it , I am amazed by the exceptional sharpness and would like to keep it that way .thank you
jaapv Posted January 12, 2013 Share #12 Posted January 12, 2013 It is no rocket science. Any owner of a digital camera should be able to clean his sensor, if only to do it in a situation when there is no friendly cleaning shop around to clean the camera before doing a shoot. Just buy an Arctic Butterfly which is probably enough to get these dustspots off, and if some remain wet-swipe it once or twice. Visit the Visible Dust website for products and information on the technique. Also there are dozens of clips on UTube showing how to do it. Click here And here Just don't use canned air like some videos do!
