wilfredo Posted February 16, 2013 Share #41 Â Posted February 16, 2013 Advertisement (gone after registration) I mostly use public transportation in NYC to go to work and carry a leather bag that hangs from my shoulder. So no M8 hanging from my body most of the time. In my pocket or leather bag I carry a Canon S90.
Peter H Posted February 17, 2013 Share #42 Â Posted February 17, 2013 I'm interested and quite surprised at how many people are concerned about carrying their cameras in public, to the point where they would rather leave them behind.
MarkP Posted February 17, 2013 Share #43 Â Posted February 17, 2013 Never bothered me, only at times though it does give my family the shits.
robert blu Posted February 19, 2013 Share #44 Â Posted February 19, 2013 Not an M, in order to have a camera with me most of times I decided for the X1, its 36 eq. lens is not so different as FOV than my 35 cron on the m7... robert
SJP Posted February 19, 2013 Share #45 Â Posted February 19, 2013 I agree with Robert that the X1 (will show some pics it produces shortly) is pretty decent by any standards. But my main concern is a 'mental' one. If I am going around dong my daily stuff I am not in 'photography mode'. Therefore - I do not need to have a camera at hand, as it is not on my mind anyway. Â So not me I am afraid. For me taking photographs only works at all if I am in the required frame of mind, and this requires a conscious effort. !Nomad64 Posted March 9, 2013 Share #46 Â Posted March 9, 2013 I customarily carry with me the M9 with one lens - between 28 and 50, depending on the mood - every working day. On weekends and on holidays I take with me also the rest of the arsenal. The only time I left home the M was when I visited Angola for the first time. Having never been there and knowing nothing about criminality and customs habits I went there with a IIIf. Now I know I could have safely brought the M too. Â Cheers, Bruno
Rick Tardiff Posted March 11, 2013 Share #47 Â Posted March 11, 2013 Advertisement (gone after registration) M3, one lens, meter and a billingham pola. everywhere...
leonroy Posted March 18, 2013 Share #48  Posted March 18, 2013 Carry an M9, 35mm and 50mm lux with me at all times. I've tried to force myself to take just one lens but haven't been able to do that so far - I love them both  Considering the cost of the above though dedicated camera insurance is essential. stephen.w Posted March 20, 2013 Share #49 Â Posted March 20, 2013 Partly due to the prod of guilt produced by this thread, I've started packing my M6 and one lens (28, 35 or 50) in my bag before I leave the house, and taking the camera with me when I leave the office during the day. Even if I don't take a single photo (as I often don't), I've found having the camera with me trains my eye and affects how I see things.
Lax Jought Posted March 20, 2013 Share #50 Â Posted March 20, 2013 Even if I don't take a single photo (as I often don't) Â I often don't take photos too but on the odd occasion it's been good to have a camera handy. For the past couple years I've stepped out of the house with my M8.2 and only one single lens.
seezee Posted March 20, 2013 Share #51 Â Posted March 20, 2013 I never leave the house without my M9-P, usually with the Zeiss Sonnar 50mm f/1.5 ZM attached, unless I'm shifting furniture when a friend needs help moving, or I'm doing yard-work, or I know I'm going somewhere where photography is prohibited, e.g., live theatre. Â I only carry my bag if I'm going out specifically to shoot. Same goes for tripod and lighting gear. My gear has changed some since I posted that; I usually leave my 35mm lenses at home, and rarely carry the 135mm (recently traded up to an Elmar f/4).
