Who else carries their M camera all the time?

I agree with Robert that the X1 (will show some pics it produces shortly) is pretty decent by any standards. But my main concern is a 'mental' one. If I am going around dong my daily stuff I am not in 'photography mode'. Therefore - I do not need to have a camera at hand, as it is not on my mind anyway.

So not me I am afraid. For me taking photographs only works at all if I am in the required frame of mind, and this requires a conscious effort.

I customarily carry with me the M9 with one lens - between 28 and 50, depending on the mood - every working day. On weekends and on holidays I take with me also the rest of the arsenal.

The only time I left home the M was when I visited Angola for the first time. Having never been there and knowing nothing about criminality and customs habits I went there with a IIIf. Now I know I could have safely brought the M too.

Cheers,

Bruno

Carry an M9, 35mm and 50mm lux with me at all times. I've tried to force myself to take just one lens but haven't been able to do that so far - I love them both :D

Considering the cost of the above though dedicated camera insurance is essential.

Partly due to the prod of guilt produced by this thread, I've started packing my M6 and one lens (28, 35 or 50) in my bag before I leave the house, and taking the camera with me when I leave the office during the day. Even if I don't take a single photo (as I often don't), I've found having the camera with me trains my eye and affects how I see things.

I often don't take photos too but on the odd occasion it's been good to have a camera handy. For the past couple years I've stepped out of the house with my M8.2 and only one single lens.

I never leave the house without my M9-P, usually with the Zeiss Sonnar 50mm f/1.5 ZM attached, unless I'm shifting furniture when a friend needs help moving, or I'm doing yard-work, or I know I'm going somewhere where photography is prohibited, e.g., live theatre.

I only carry my bag if I'm going out specifically to shoot. Same goes for tripod and lighting gear. My gear has changed some since I posted that; I usually leave my 35mm lenses at home, and rarely carry the 135mm (recently traded up to an Elmar f/4).
