farnz Posted July 23, 2012 Share #41 Posted July 23, 2012 Advertisement (gone after registration) Similar but imho an important difference. An urban myth is understood not to be true but an urban legend is something that's celebrated as true and often is. YMMV. Pete.
Advertisement Posted July 23, 2012 Posted July 23, 2012 Hi farnz, Take a look here Thinking of buying a 50mm Summilux ASPH. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
smkoush Posted July 23, 2012 Share #42 Posted July 23, 2012 Well, I used to have a black one, now I have a silver one. From this 2-lens sample, the silver one has a very noticeable smoother focusing and aperture turn. Optical performance is the same, but the silver one is definitely smoother (perhaps due to the extra weight of brass?). Of course this is low-number statistics, but I thought I'd share my experience.
