My retina MBP is already on order. Despite the no user upgradability and glued in battery I still think it's an evolution in notebook design and will offer something of real benefit with the monitor. I've not felt the need to upgrade from my 2006 MBP until now.

I think it's the best thing to travel with too. It looks like a perfect mix of size and power.

Hey why not just buy an S2 for that new 15" Retina?

Been reading about this monster. It can not even opened because of proprietary security bolts. RAM is soldered in place and no RAM can be added ever even by Apple. Even the battery is glued into place. So buy it all set up because there is no changing it.

The person who did open it graded it the very worst computer ever for repair. The very worst,

a new record.

I suggest you buy Apple Care if you pop for this machine.

I had a play with the new retina display MacBook pro in a local Apple store today and was very disappointed ... the glare is still very strong at all angles, when compared to a normal MacBook Pro side by side, the reflection is just as bad.

The flashy new screen may be attractive to many ordinary folks but certainly isn't good for photographic works.
