rick123 Posted March 8, 2007 Share #1 Â Posted March 8, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi everyone, Â If allowed to keep and use just ONE camera and lens that you ever had or would like to own, what would it be? For me, it would not be my old Polaroid Swinger, Ricoh Singlex TLS, Nikon FTN, Nikon F3, or even my Leica M6. Believe it or not, I would opt for my compact (no excuse not to bring it everywhere), reliable, amazingly sharp, & instantly gratifying Leica D-Lux 2 (with the retro brown D-Lux leather case)! wparsonsgisnet Posted March 8, 2007 Share #7 Â Posted March 8, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) I can no longer work without the M8, but my favorite is my M4 with the 50mm 'cron DR. Â I think the M4 shutter is more silent than the M6 (that I just gave to my son with the DR). Â However, the M8 has put me in a different place altogether. A magnificent achievement for Leica (even including all the mosquito bites of the IR problems, etc.)! Â This camera has caused a bigger change to and given me more freedom in my photography than I have ever had. This forum comes a close second. Â Regards,

pfogle Posted March 8, 2007 Share #12 Â Posted March 8, 2007 At the moment, Epson R-D1 with Rokkor-M 40mm f2 Â I've had a lot of favourites over the years, but never had more fun than with this one. Â Lens - I'd swap the Rokkor for a 35/1.4 ASPH, if anyone is up for it

audidudi Posted March 8, 2007 Share #15 Â Posted March 8, 2007 I realize this probably borders on heresy relative to this forum, but here goes... Â A Toyo 810G view camera with a modified Process Nikkor 210mm F10 lens. Â More of my favorite images have been shot with this camera/lens combo than any other (although the total for my second choice -- a late '50s Minolta Autocord LMX TLR with its built-in 80mm Tessar-design lens -- isn't too far behind.) Â Yes, being limited to just this camera would mean giving up snapshots, travel photos, street photography (although Joel Sternfeld somehow manages to get by with his 8x10 ... remarkable work), etc., but I could live with that since my photography isn't about memories but expression. Eoin Posted March 8, 2007 Share #19 Â Posted March 8, 2007 Now thats a tough one, best lens was the EF 200 f/1.8 L with a favorite lens & focal length being EF 85 f/1.2 L. Best body used was the T90 while my new favorite is the M8. Having to pick one now I'd opt for the M8, as for lenses I have a love hate relationship with the 75 'cron so I guess I could live with the Summilux 35 Asph as a 1 lens setup.
