IWC Doppel Posted February 2, 2016 Share #370 Posted February 2, 2016 I've been stuck with house renovations for the last 18m (a good 12-18m to go!) looking forward to popping the 75 on something and getting familiar again. My poor M gets covered in dust keeping a record of work and progress.....

Guest Posted December 11, 2016 Share #373 Posted December 11, 2016 Yesterday found at Leica Outlet Store in Wetzlar: Lens cap 14032 for TL-Apo-Vario 3.5-5.6 / 18-56mm Asph fits also on other lenses with filter size 60mm. Finally, a lens cap with handle center pinch, which makes it easier to mount and remove the lens cap on the Summilux 75 1. Version than the original lens cap (right on the photo), if you would like to leave the separate lens hood permanently on the lens. Other companies than Leica have been manufacturing lens caps with center pinch for some time, but the filter size 60mm seems too rare for a production. Welcome, dear visitor! Paul J Posted December 11, 2016 Author Share #374 Posted December 11, 2016 This lens is Leica Legendary status. Sublime wide open, razor sharp stopped down. One of the very best lenses, ever, IMO. It's doubled in value since I owned it too. Gets no better really.

pgk Posted December 12, 2016 Share #376 Posted December 12, 2016 Herr Doktor Karbe does not share the same opinion of the 75 Summilux. Its 'imperfect' optically wide open. I doubt a lens designer will appreciate this even though it represented a state-of-the-art design when launched.
Peter H Posted December 12, 2016 Share #377 Posted December 12, 2016 Herr Doktor Karbe does not share the same opinion of the 75 Summilux. Neither do I, for what vanishingly little that's worth.

Do you know if the exterior diameter of this new 14032 lens cap is the same as that of the regular E60 14290? Just curious as i wonder if the new 14032 lens cap would fit my E60 Summilux 75/1.4 with built-in hood.
Guest Posted December 13, 2016 Share #379 Posted December 13, 2016 Thanks for the tip. Do you know if the exterior diameter of this new 14032 lens cap is the same as that of the regular E60 14290? Just curious as i wonder if the new 14032 lens cap would fit my E60 Summilux 75/1.4 with built-in hood. Lens cap 14290 has an exterior diameter of 68mm at the somewhat wider side, where the outer fixing straps are (hope this is the right technical term ). Lens cap 14032 has an exterior diameter of only 60mm everywhere, which closes flush with the Summilux or its UV filter.
