zenonzinonos Posted December 24, 2011 Share #1 Posted December 24, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) In the early hours of 24 December my home was burgled whilst I was asleep upstairs. Amongst the items stolen was my recently purchased M4-2 (serial number 1529205) together with a 40mm Summicron lens (serial number not recorded). I am posting this in the hope that it is offered to a fellow forum member... in the meantime I will keep a lookout on the usual internet auction sites. Not a great end to the year, I'm afraid. thebarnman Posted December 24, 2011 Share #4 Posted December 24, 2011 Do you think they knew of your M4...or was it just chance they simply ran across it? What else was taken?
too old to care Posted December 24, 2011 Share #5 Posted December 24, 2011 So sorry to hear about your M4, and your break in. What kind of people cannot respect others property, well they must be just nuts and it makes me nuts too just thing about it. Hope you find it. Studio58 Posted December 25, 2011 Share #6 Posted December 25, 2011 I hate the idea of theft. I believe that stolen goods slip through the possession of the thief very quickly as it is not theirs.... so how can it be theirs. Additionally, I believe that an equal opposite action must occur to balance the ledger. Theft is a no win for anyone.

zenonzinonos Posted December 26, 2011 Author Share #8 Posted December 26, 2011 Do you think they knew of your M4...or was it just chance they simply ran across it? What else was taken? I think that they just grabbed whatever they could find as quickly as possible. Other items included a MacBook Pro laptop, iPad, my wife's handbag and iPhone. The M4-2, lens and light-meter were in a small canvas satchel and I believe they didn't realize that it contained a camera - they will probably be disappointed when they realize that it's a film camera with limited resale potential in Cyprus... Michael Geschlecht Posted December 26, 2011 Share #9 Posted December 26, 2011 Hello Zenonzinonos, Welcome to the Forum. I hope you get your M back. Did you see the Thread "Leica lost @ Seattle Tacoma Airport" in the Customer Forum? It might be helpful. Best Regards, Michael
enboe Posted December 27, 2011 Share #10 Posted December 27, 2011 Another thought: You mentioned the loss of an iPad, iPhone, and MacBook. All three have locator functions if you set them up. That could help the police quite a bit. Eric
