Graham (G4FUJ) Posted July 24, 2017 Share #2243 Posted July 24, 2017 S. Carolina, Wilmington? Might have gone too far south, but looks vaguely familiar (long time ago).
wlaidlaw Posted July 24, 2017 Share #2244 Posted July 24, 2017 Gone too far south. This building is of huge historical importance in the USA, with many important events occurring inside. Wilson

wlaidlaw Posted July 24, 2017 Share #2248 Posted July 24, 2017 (edited) Think older, when Washington was still a swamp. Edited July 24, 2017 by wlaidlaw
Michael Geschlecht Posted July 24, 2017 Share #2249 Posted July 24, 2017 Hello Wilson, When Washington, D.C. was a swamp: To the South there was Williamsburg & to the North there was Baltimore. Perhaps 1 of those 2?Best Regards, Michael
wlaidlaw Posted July 24, 2017 Share #2250 Posted July 24, 2017 Neither of those. You need to delve deeper into the history of the USA
Michael Geschlecht Posted July 24, 2017 Share #2251 Posted July 24, 2017 (edited) Hello Wilson, Actually, By delving deeper we are going into the time period before there was a USofA.If you are thinking of the later European settlers, like the English, there was, among others, Jamestown. jdlaing Posted July 25, 2017 Share #2254 Posted July 25, 2017 Could it be the Maryland State House in Annapolis, Maryland?
wlaidlaw Posted July 25, 2017 Share #2255 Posted July 25, 2017 Could it be the Maryland State House in Annapolis, Maryland? Correct. The oldest original state house still in use. Was used as the Capitol when Annapolis was the first Capitol of the Republic. George Washington offered his resignation of the continental army in the building and it was there that the treaty of Paris was signed. It supposedly still has its original Benjamin Franklin lightning rod (dubious). It was closed due to a public workers strike the day I went there. Your turn Wilson Welcome, dear visitor!
