With the success of "Do you know the world?", "name this car" and the "world from above thread", I thought I'd try to start "Do you know this building or structure?"

I don't know how difficult this may be, so for the first couple lets make it somewhat easy and be liberal with the hints.

I'll start:

it's been in a few movies. name the region within the town; extra points for the actual name of the building

I don't know where or what it is but it is but it is truly wonderful the the stunning composition, perspective, rich tones and clarity.

Hello Ian,

Perhaps we are on the western coast of France somewhere.

Best Regards,

Michael

Not Scotland, Michael. It is not on the coast either - in fact, it is located in a landlocked EU country.

Hello Everybody,

How about making this Thread a "Sticky" as has been done with a number of Threads in the "Landscape & Travel" section?

By the way: Anyone know what or at least where this building is?

I wonder if Ian is still sleeping?

Best Regards,

Michael

I like taking pictures of Dogs because they don't object to being photographed - and they don't ask for prints.

Hello Everybody,

Wait a minute: In all of our enthusiasm no one has woken up Ian yet to ask him if Luxembourg is the "landlocked" EU Country we are looking for.

Hello Ian.

Would you like to join us?

Best Regards,

Michael

If he is still sound asleep, perhaps someone can post something to keep the thread going? I'm not sure I have anything suitably obscure right now.

Ok, to keep this going something easier - which building is he guarding?

The writer Gertrude Stein once asked, which camera Henri Cartier Bresson had used for some photos that she admired. He replied: "By the way, my dear, I recently read your latest book which I liked exceptionally well. Now could you tell me please what kind of typewriter did you use?"
