NigelG Posted June 13, 2021 Share #3542 Posted June 13, 2021 I would guess it might be in the Carribean based on the roof?

stuny Posted June 14, 2021 Share #3544 Posted June 14, 2021 If it is in the Caribbean I'd expect the red roof to be made of texas tiles. This roof seems to be rolled steel, which i most often see in more northerly areas.

One pronounces this Texas as Tay'hahs Tayhas is the Spanish pronunciation of Texas spelled TEJAS. The clay tiles you speak of are Spanish Roof Tiles. 😃 Edited June 15, 2021 by jdlaing
jdlaing Posted June 15, 2021 Share #3548 Posted June 15, 2021 What are Spanish roof tiles called? Barrel roof tile Barrel roof tile, more commonly known as Spanish Tile (or Double Roman), is a term often used to describe the multiple forms of semi-cylindrical roofing tile that is laid in an interlocking pattern. Spanish tile roofing has been around for centuries and continues to be the preference of many homeowners today.
adan Posted June 15, 2021 Share #3549 Posted June 15, 2021 (edited) Off-topic, but these probably qualify. Interesting that with a slight simpification, the shape of Texas can be tiled. Some versions have a more S-shaped coastline. In any case, corrugated or rolled metal has become fairly common throughout the Caribbean. Often finished in red to retain the flavor of the red colonial tiles. Edited June 15, 2021 by adan 1
masjah Posted June 15, 2021 Share #3550 Posted June 15, 2021 So, retaining the alliterative theme, Texas Tiles could be Texas Tessallations? 1
