I think it is Kyoto railway station. The food is amazingly cheap and very good in there. In 2009, I got a bowl of excellent soba noodle soup big enough to drown in and full of prawns and chicken for just ¥800, including a bottle of beer.

When we returned here, and took this photo (before going for tonkatsu) they had a large band playing below.

 

The food in Japanese trains stations, even on the platforms, is amazingly good.

On a US Navy enlisted uniform collar there are two stars.

They signify the two times Britain was removed from America at gunpoint.

1812 was one of them.
